I read the entire story at the link, and wow, that is actually crazy!

The climate of political anger between the two sides is really starting to heat up.

People are so adamant that "their way or the highway" that they will never compromise or seek diplomatic solutions to our collective ills.

Although political conflict through debate is a good thing, and helps keep us free, this ignorant and impatient demeanor building up within the minds of our fellow countrymen is troubling.

No longer are people patient or clever enough to devise winning arguments or seek legitimate solutions.

And when people have no more patience for one another's opinions, and are fearful that the other person will get their way, and angry enough about it; there will be more violence. This is an obvious fact of reality we have to deal with.

Oddly enough however, the media and the government are not dealing with this correctly. They are adding fuel to the flames, and exasperating it through subliminal methods found anywhere in their propaganda materials. (TV radio internet etc)

Well I guess the gun advocate should thank him.

He pretty much proved the gun advocates point as to why citizens need firearms to be able to defend themselves.

Because Laughner's aim would have been altered had Fuller been armed? That doesn't make sense. Fuller gets plugged either way.
When a person sets out to do something like Laughner did; others being armed is not a deterrent. That would indicate rational thought in an extremely irrational person. Just my opinion anyway.

What in the heck is wrong with people these days?
Dont they have any respect for anything?
Turning a memorial into a michael jackson concert, and now this.

Sadly your opinion and the facts are far away from each other.

The fact is, you didn't even understand the poster you quoted.

The man needs a gun to defend himself from the Fuller guy, who instead of using fair political debate he merely threatened the individual he disagrees with "Your Dead" while taking photos of him.

That's why the man needs a right to a gun for self defense. This man whom disagrees with him wants to kill him for his political opinions.

Being armed is not meant to be a deterrent from psychopathic murderers.
It is a Defense, it allows you to kill them first.

The Laws against Murder and their punishments is suppose to act as a deterrent. But we all know how well that worked out.

Therefore we need a last line of defense. Our right to bear arms to defend ourselves when the law fails to.

Typical left wing nut job. Now this example should be laid directly in the lap of the left wing media for trying to place the blame on their political enemies when the facts all indicated that the right or the tea party had nothing to do with the Arizona psycho.

I don't believe that someone with a mentally ill condition can be labeled left or right. I believe this guy is under a great deal of stress being a survivor at the hands of a really deranged human being.

He's probably harboring some guilt himself because he survived the shooting spree last weekend. My sister-in-law and her husband are both liberals. Her husband's parents are both conservative. They all work in the medical profession. They're all really wonderful people.

The practice of labeling someone either left or right when an individual commits such horrendous crimes only divides the nation further.

I humbly disagree.

I believe that anyone who sees themselves as Dem or Rep, is verifying that they are crazy.

Possibly survivor guilt with PTSD. But, neither are grounds for an excuse as to what he did.
Still, what a twerp. "Your dead" with a picture of me would probably get a middle finger and my response of "Bring it".

Shooting victim held in alleged threat at forum

During the taping, Tucson Tea Party co-founder Trent Humphries was making a comment when Fuller reportedly turned around, snapped a photo of Humphries with his camera and said, "You're dead," Ogan said.

"After he made the comment, he began verbalizing too, pointing to the side of his head making gestures like, 'You're crazy, ' " said sheriff's Bureau Chief Rick Kastigar, who attended the event.

"He was visibly agitated," Kastigar said.

Fuller was escorted out of the meeting by deputies and interviewed before he was taken into custody, Ogan said.

The Pima County Attorney's Office will review the incident to see if Fuller will face any charges, he said.

Fuller, a naval air veteran, was shot in the left knee and hit in the back with bullet fragments during the shootings.

Seems like there's more than one person drinking the Kool-Aid in Tuscon. Thought I'd throw my hat into the discussion with this article, just not being posted by Arizona Times. Seems like they are a little late on the topic, no?
