Death threat at ABC-TV Town Hall event Saturday

he meeting room at St. Odilia's Catholic Church on the city's northwest side was packed with local dignitaries, witnesses to the mass shooting Jan. 8, some of the witnesses to the shootings and the first responders to the scene for a taping of an ABC-TV special, a town hall event, at 11 a.m. Saturday. Host of the program, This Week, is Christianne Amanpour. The show will air at 7 a.m. Sunday on KGUN9-TV.

Toward the end of the town hall meeting Saturday morning, one of the shooting victims, J. Eric Fuller, took exception to comments by two of the speakers: Ariz. state Rep. Terri Proud, a Dist. 26 Republican, and Tucson Tea Party spokesman Trent Humphries.

According to sheriff's deputies at the scene, Fuller took a photo of Humphries and said, "You're Dead."

Deputies immediately escorted Fuller from the room.

Pima County Sheriff's spokesman Jason Ogan said later Saturday that Fuller has been charged with threats and intimidation and he also will be charged with disorderly conduct.

Of course he probably said that because he was still angry from the shooting... which he's blaming on Tea Parties... because he watched too much MSM. I can understand his feelings... after all, he was a victim of the shooting and being a victim, he needs to blame someone, something... so he's directing his anger at the Tea Party. The guy is still in shock...

I doubt he will ever move on that threat, but it's interesting that no way the MSM is gonna talk about that... but of course if it were a Tea Party member who would have made a threat about someone else during that meeting, it would have been all over the MSM with the headlines ``Tea Parties want more blood`` or some BS like that.

It's a sad state in These United when main stream media, and the bias they show, wield as powerful and impacting an influence as do the actions and/or efforts of a delusional Individual hell-bent on causing harm to others in return for achieving predetermined 'goals'.

By using these type incidents in order to 'paint' various 'groups' and 'organizations/organized efforts' in a manner less than actual; they're no better than the lone gunman dictating their view(s) to society ... round after round.

I think that your summary has a few good points...it almost seems as if he was trying to inflict the same amount of fear that was laid on his psyche.
I feel sorry for all involved. We should pray for cooler heads to prevail in this situation. There are bad eggs in any group...using straw-men to point fingers only obfuscates the true problems that this incident reveals.

The problem is that the right-wing wont acknowledge their fear and hate mongering; they want to dent they indulge in it. It's called chickens come home to roost!

You rarely see other political groups other than right wingers indulge in threats, hatred, and extreme reactionary divisiveness.

The shooting can serve as a warning to that tea party right-winger republican’s who have spewed hatred, anger and threats for two years and don’t want to admit their guilt.

Of course not all right-wingers and tea party types indulge in it but those who don’t aught to condemn those who do, on the record!

Do you know that gang stalking is a left wing doctrine, of targeting individuals. Left and right are both as violent and bad as one another. As many criminals operate on both sides, so why targeting right wing people, when everyone is neither left or right.

Fuller is reported to be a political operative who has publicly blamed Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, and Sharron Angle for inciting the violence that caused the events of last Saturday. Fuller survived shots to the knee and back and is reported to be a 63 year old military vet. Video showing Fuller being escorted from the Town Hall Party meeting by the police is available on the left sidebar. About Eric Fuller: Fuller, age 63, is a political operative who specializes in gathering petitions for ballot initiatives. Before the program began, he passed out business cards to people sitting around him that read: "Signatures "Expediting Initiatives since 2006 "J. I would say that it is definitely "mind control" in action, but not from the CIA.

The "mind control" this guy suffers from is the brainwashing that is all too common within the ranks of the Progressive/Liberal population within the United States.

Just look at some of the stuff that's posted here on ATS by "progressives." These people perceive and act ONLY through a very narrow filter that readily promotes and encourages violence against political & ideological opponents.

but of course if it were a Tea Party member who would have made a threat about someone else during that meeting, it would have been all over the MSM with the headlines ``Tea Parties want more blood`` or some BS like that.

Nope. We're all so used to implied violence from the TP that it would be "just another day" of talk. I'd be ignored. This guy was wrong to say what he said though. If he was so angry it might have been a good idea for him to stay home and watch it on TV. "Wrongs" are never canceled out by "matching wrongs" from the opposition but to listen to us all it seems that they really are.

By the way what, or who exactly, is MSM? I mean is it those news organizations that we all know about or what? Since news sources and broadcasters became philosophically polarized some years ago are there any independent voices left at all? Fox is MSM for the right. MSNBC is MSM for the left. which of these two MSM's are you referring to when you say, "MSM"? Or are you putting them both down? It seems as though the "MSM" that you refer to is that which is from the "left" and that the "MSM" from the right is a shining beacon of hope for mankind. Pardon me while I throw up.

The true job of news reporting historically has been to report and challenge what is said by those in positions of leadership. "Make them prove it" stances insured that people remained reasonably honest. Now a days, however, when this happens cries of "left wing activism" are heard. A healthy MSM takes pot shots at everyone in the spotlight. It works to expose fraud no matter where it is discovered. The citizenry in general come to rely upon this kind of MSM for truth. These are largely gone now. All we have left is Hannity and Olberman food fighting with each other. MSM? I wish we really did have one.

So, kindly tell me about this fictional MSM that you refer to. And explain to me how it can be both MSM and dishonest at the same time.

Easy. I learend all my excuses from the TEA party so here goes.

While I find it highly plausible you were naive enough to never be exposed to a logical process until recently, I highly doubt these political issues are the source of your 'excuses' - and thus call BS.

In either case - the man is, quite obviously, not thinking clearly. There's a difference between insanity and irrationality. When my ex started messing around with other guys (while we were 'together') - I became irrational and behaved in ways that were unpredictable and not well thought out. That's similar to what this guy did. If he was insane, the "you're dead" would have been delivered via bullet or some other lethal means - as he would have been able to think clearly, just along lines many of us fundamentally disagree with.

I'm a rather opinionated individual who will openly state I believe someone to be of such incompetence as to be below human recognition. For me, about 60% or more of the human population doesn't qualify as human on an intellectual level. I realize that's rather arrogant and conceited, but the cool thing about being arrogant and conceited is that you don't have to worry much about what other people think unless they have earned your respect.

I believe in a government that is as small as practical and a people who are free to organize and govern themselves. That would place me in the general vicinity of the "Tea party" and a "conservative."

I, however, don't feel the need to go out there and kill people. By all means, if people start shooting at each other, I don't want to be left out of the fun and games. But I also realize that killing people over this will not accomplish anything. Killing someone because you disagree with them is just bad policy, tempting as it may be (especially when you are a superior individual), but bad policy.

If Missouri decides to become its own independent state and reject federal jurisdiction, that's a choice they have made that is worth defending. If an army comes to say otherwise, then it would be logical for me to defend the decisions made by those I share a livelihood most in common with, no? Killing is a side-effect, rather than a primary response to disagreement - and a point at which the killing starts and stops is rather clearly defined.

There will always be individuals in society who are 'insane' or 'irrational' and do things that are socially unacceptable in the name of some ideological stance or another. It's like trying to go into a southern baptist church full of blacks and accuse them of supporting the KKK for having many of the same theological beliefs the KKK follow (centered around Christianity).

This goes for conservative and liberal ideologies. Admittedly, I'm a conservative - so I tend to take note and exception to cases of liberals going bonkers (such as Obama). It's partly the way we are wired as humans. Thankfully, I'm aware of the futility of pointing out individual cases, and would rather point out how liberal policies, in general, tend to have a negative impact on the communities they are applied to.

That's the meat and potatoes we need to be focusing on. Getting all wound up because some guy wants to burn some religious book or tells someone they are about to be dead (I've said this a number of times to people who genuinely pissed me off - they are, much to my annoyance, still alive) is just getting distracted by trees in the forest. The world is full of people who are loony and irrational (just look at the UFO forum for a demonstration of this) - you can't control what they say or do.

I've met people who got violently upset over their belief the neighbors were moving the rocks in their driveway around, or something equally trivial. It doesn't matter what we try and say or how we attempt to 'tone down' the debates - you're always going to have fringe mentalities coming in and killing people over eating the last apple in the fridge.

Forget about it and concentrate on the real issues that matter, rather than getting caught up in a who-is-more-radical-than-whom debate.

I cut out that entire rant because it had nothing to do with me or anything I posted. Unfortunately, apparently neither does this. I really have no clue what your point was. You calle me naive, insulted me, tossed BS at me and then ranted about things not relavent to my reply. Maybe you think I started this thread or wrote the post I responded to? I am really not sure what you are trying to say to me. The man is one guy. Whatever his reasons for saying what he said are his. Not any groups.

The question I responded to was what "excuses" the left are going to have for this man. I was stating my excuses as I learned them from the right recently. Not sure how any of your response applies but thanks for the insult.

Although you were not the type of person I was referring to, I wish your answer was that of one of the many media talking heads. To much of this name calling and blame laying has been going on lately. It strikes me too much as a act of misdirection. Look at this, so you don't see what I'm doing over here. Thank you for a more common sense answer.
