Admittedly, I'm not the biggest fan of American sitcoms, the likes of Fraser and that one with Martin Sheen just doesn't appeal to me in the slightest.

But I remember paying a visit to my Nan a few years ago, and as I got that she was chuckling away at something on TV. I begin to watch it for 5 minutes, and as somebody with OCD and many habits similar to that of Adrian Monk, I was hooked!

It really is brilliant. It started off a bit slow but just got better and better. Great laughs, clever stories and some memorable characters. I was quite sad to see it end.

I now have the entire collection on DVD to repeat view whenever I feel like a good chuckle.

So thanks for Monk, America.

Monk was extremely entertaining! A similar show you might enjoy is "Psych". It's another detective show done very similarly to Monk about a consultant with the police department with great detective skills who pretends to be psychic. It doesn't have the charm of Monk but it's really quite a funny program.
