Monday is Martin Luther King day, MLK is a true American hero who fought for truth and justice for all people.
What you seldom hear of in the MSM is how elements of our own government employed every dirty trick imaginable in order to discredit and take him down.

The above link is to the final report of a government study detailing some of the FBI's counter-intelligence operations instigated against Dr.King. Some of the highlights are setting him up to be blackmailed using wiretaps and bugging, trying to use the media to discredit him, and suggesting that he commit suicide.
The below link is the wiki link to COINTELPRO, what's interesting is how this all came to light, a citizens group broke into the FBI offices and took it to the media, otherwise we might not even know about all this.

Here is a video about some of the COINTELPRO activities in the 60's

Here is a video about some of the most current activities that could be going on.

I think all this goes to show that when you stand for truth and justice, they're always gonna come at you hard. When people try to confuse, divide and discredit see it for what it is, in the end truth and justice will prevail.

No doubt you're going to take some flak for this thread but your point is very worth looking into. I always wondered, why would Congress put a 50 year lock on the MLK files if he was supposed to be such a great guy? Surely there would be nothing to hide if the hero was really such a hero?

Maybe the lock is to protect the government, not MLK.

The government tried many ploys to stop MLK from getting his word out if you do any kind of research you will clearly see this but does the government get reprimanded...noooo.... it's the same thing they did in Guatemala when the government gave the citizens syphilis, when stuff like this happens the government should be punished in some way like having sanctions levied againts them.

No country is above the law none of them...
