(Reuters) - Israel's military chief objected last year to a proposal to attack Iranian nuclear sites by Defense Minister Ehud Barak, who retaliated by cutting the general's tenure, an Israeli newspaper reported Wednesday.
Lieutenant-General Gabi Ashkenazi, who retires next month, believed that "initiating a war will only bring disaster upon Israel" and won Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's "promise that his view would be heard," the Haaretz daily said.

if haarp was really effective and could achieve what many claim it could then they would of used it on iran a long time ago to halt the nuclear programme.
this general is a good man and know whats worth fighting for. he knows that iran posses no threat to the jews. iran has the biggest jewish population in the middle east after israel. he knows that ahmedinejad didnt call for the destruction of the jews. this general probably knows what crimes the illegal state of israel commit everyday but his job is to defend the israelis and not to put them into another disaster.
he retires next month, whos next?
