Star and flag

... as to say that a post gets a star and the thread gets a flag, so it will be put in "myATS" and you can follow it, and it's kind of a reward for the writer of the post or thread or both.

Other abreviations you may come across often in threads-

SHTF - Sh*t hit the fan

TPTB- the powers that be

Second line- Something poeple put under their one liner posts so they dont get mangled by admin (I think)

You see the blank stars above peoples posts in most forums ?

Click on it, and its like giving someone a reward for their post, Like if its made you laugh or you feel its a good contribution

The star systemin doesnt appear In ATS freshmens forum or in board business and questions forum, A flag is what ive just given you, You flag threads if you belive them to be a good threads

Do you know why some threads (like this), don't give an option to star?

Its because these arnt forums relevant to conspiricies theorys or information on subjects other than the running of ATS and questions on how to use it

You kind of get stars for information/Contribution you provide, not questions you ask or answer

(Allthough many people get stars for their abusive or irritating posts, This is not generally what the star system is for)

Dang, I always thought it meant "Sodas and Foot longs"... So much for my dreams of an ATS BBQ *big sigh*

Is there a FAQ or help page that explains these basic things? I've been here for a bit and still don't know what all of the numbers under my name stand for.

Same here. Where can I find the FAQ, most forums have it in some obvious spot, but I couldn't find it here. I just learned what a flag is, since I joined the forums I assumed that a flag means that people didn't like the thread so they flagged it, but I guess it means the opposite ..... also how do you flag a thread ?

Thanks,

No no no...you all have it wrong.

You see, S&F stands for:

Stand & Fart!

So as to release the built up pressure from reading the post!
That's the only reason I ever use it...and according to me, is the definition.

Or maybe its:
Starsky & Futch
Schooled & Fooled
Stopped & Farted

I might be taking it too far....

*S&F*

(with no actual star in this board)

By the way, use this: ATS Search for all your FAQ's.
Or click on the Search box above the thread topic logo, towards the right side of the screen.
Maybe this will help because there are tons of helpful threads on this site.

I did use the search button, that's how I found this thread and figured out what a flag is. I simply want to know how to flag a thread, I couldn't find that answer.
