Freedom in decline worldwide: US report

www.breitbart.com

In "Freedom in the World 2011" the Washington-based Freedom House said it had documented the longest continuous period of decline since it began compiling the annual index nearly 40 years ago.

"A total of 25 countries showed significant declines in 2010, more than double the 11 countries exhibiting noteworthy gains," the group said.

"Authoritarian regimes like those in China, Egypt, Iran, Russia, and Venezuela continued to step up repressive measures with little significant resistance from the democratic world," it said.

A telling sign of the times, as we see quite a bit of chaos popping up worldwide, and police state nonsense and crackdowns with concurrent riotings becoming prevelant.

Funny how the states recieved little word as being one of the nations in decline, just as congress is sneaking around, getting ready to extend the ever-treasonous and draconian 'Patriot Act':

www.rawstory.com...

It does seem to be a recurring trend in modern times that the govs are going after more and more control of their societies, and taking away more and more rights from the 'little people'. The establishments worldwide appear to be trying to expand their power and control over the masses...

Because we the people are considered too STUPID to decide anything for ourselves..
We MUST be controlled through every aspect of our lives.
Protected against phantom boogie men and then work our butts off to pay for all this..

And to think a few guys in a cave started all this...then we appeared to continue the mission slowly withdrawing our freedoms and demanding other countries do the same. They say we do this for our protection--for our safety.

Odd isn't it..
Our forefathers fought for are freedom and now the Government is fighting to take them away..
Question is, how far will they go and how much will the people take.??

Ha!
A US based study telling us about our freedoms and democracies...

Keep that to yourselves, please, we each have different ideas about what freedom is and how to achieve it, so step off the fart pedestal...

Funny, though!

NOTE: I'm not directing this to the US people, but to the establishment and Gov't.

Just as the man of a household will do everything to keep his family safe, so too will a government do everything within it's power to ensure it's own survival.

As natural resources continue to be depleted, expect the governments of the world to continue tightening their grips upon humanity.

Not saying I'm okay with the situation, this is the only way it has to be, or anything similar. Just saying the way things have been, currently are, and seem to be trending towards.

I always love how the mainstream news writers always paint Russia, and Venezuela as the bad guys who have removed the freedom away from the current neo Nazis protests in russia, but i don't see that happening in Russia how the people would be threatening there government yet .

So again they are accusing russia of having an authoritarian regime.

"Authoritarian regimes like those in China, Egypt, Iran, Russia, and Venezuela continued to step up repressive measures with little significant resistance from the democratic world," it said.

What does this make America then? people are losing there rights to protest, installing police state checkpoints doesn't so very democratic and preventing people on buying herbs, growing food in there own yard.

How does that sound democratic? i still cant believe america isn't on the list.

Our future presently is pretty bleak, as they keep enhancing and developing the electronic control grid around the world we have arrived now at the 11th hour for freedom. Our Government knows we are unhappy and well we should be as they let the corporations grow into the monopolies they have, to squeeze all independent competition out, and basically turn America into a place of little to no opportunity at all. They know we know they bankrupted us to create an international resource stealing regime changing killing machine, and that if there were anyway to do it, we would throw every last person out of Washington and the Corporate Board Rooms and end this system of hording, monopolizing and providing as little to the people as they possibly can and still get away with it.

They know we are sick of all the endless laws and codes, rules and fines, lies and broken promises, and the armed henchmen they are deploying every where, and this ever growing prison complex that punishes people and confines them to slave labor just for enjoying the vices of a few harmless pleasures.

When you get right down to it the only thing over half the people in prison are guilty of is having a good time.

The see us grumble, we don't do it in a vacuum, and now that they are beginning to suffer the same violence directed at them, they have long been directing at us to make us submit and obey their every law and edict, well it's just going to get a whole lot worse before and if it ever gets better.

People need to think real hard and real honestly about the prospects for our future under this system, because honestly, this is just the beginning and it's going to get a whole lot worse every day moving forward.

They appear to be testing their space based electronic weapons right now, and judging by the bird flocks and fish schools they are targeting they are sound wave based.

People need to do a check up from the neck up, this isn't going to go away on it's own, and it's not going to correct itself.

We, the beacon of freedom, our lighthouse has tumbled.
And we're talking about other countries? Please, the MSM is just telling us "Oh, look how good you have it! People in China are rolled over by tanks. But instead, you lucky dog, you get a waterboarding!" Wake up America!

no

A privilege is something that is granted by the government or other authority, a right is something that you are born with and can not be taken away, liberty and freedom is the exercising of those rights

The USA has the ability to once again lead by example, if we didn't renew the patriot act. This would end our current police state.

We will watch and see what path we take.

A country like america who tortures people for no reason, has no reason to judge what others do.

It's more likely we will get our genitals electrified for having such opinions, before they do away with the patriot act.

But I can dream can't I.....

Our propaganda machine used to teach us that we lead the world, so it's time we lead by example.

Not holding my breath on this...

Its all down to positive thinking too. Positive thinking has brought america into a state where murder is normal, and torture is too.

Shows you the end game of the things like the secret.

Positive thinking has brought

Nazi holocaust
Gaza concetration camp
made america into a country where murder and violence is a norm, and the country can kill anyone they want.

Its all down to positive thinking garbage.

I agree, you can have a dream, dude.

But as you have stated. do not hold your breathe. It will not happen, if those in power in the US has anything to do with it.

Never Believe what a politician tells you. We all should have learned that one by now.
