Is masturbation a sin? Christ said:

But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. -Matthew 5:28 KJV

It's considered adultery to lust after any woman. So when you masturbate you are thinking about and lusting after a woman that's not your wife.

Also the Bible says this against spilling semen instead of impregnating your wife:

And Judah said unto Onan, Go in unto thy brother's wife, and marry her, and raise up seed to thy brother.

And Onan knew that the seed should not be his; and it came to pass, when he went in unto his brother's wife, that he spilled it on the ground, lest that he should give seed to his brother.

And the thing which he did displeased the LORD: wherefore he slew him also. -Genesis 38:8-10 KJV

Then we have verses that support celibacy:

For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it. -Matthew 19:12

Here Christ says some people make themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of Heaven. That requires cutting off the genitals.

Now for the matters you wrote about: “It is good for a man not to have sexual relations with a woman.” But since sexual immorality is occurring, each man should have sexual relations with his own wife, and each woman with her own husband. -1 Corinthians 7:1-2

At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven. -Matthew 22:30

So when we get resurrected and live in Heaven we won't be married or have sexual relations, we will be celibate. Also the Apostle Paul said it's better not to marry because it takes your focus away from God, but it's better to marry than burn with lust.

Well I could post a long reply, but lets just put it like this.

I was worried there for a moment.

Being single means I am not commiting adultry.

Watching professional porn while I enjoy a moment with myself means that I am not lusting after someone who doesn't seek that attention.

Close call, but my ticket to hell will have to be validated some other way.

(not that it matters being agnostic)

No disrespect, but maybe you should try masturbating, why on Earth your likening a basic human need to a religious instruction is beyond me!

What if I'm not a Christian, lets even go one better and say I'm not religious? How could Masturbation be a sin when I don't believe in "sins"?
