Bill Maher says Glenn Beck’s nutty and like the Giffords shooter, Jared Loughner. It is now open season beyond the shadow of a doubt on all conservatives, at least from the standpoint of many liberals. Each day after the Gabrielle Giffords shooting has brought with it increasingly shocking defamation by liberals looking to turn the murderous tragedy of Giffords’ shooting into a poorly calculated political opportunity. The latest shameless liberal to jump on the desperate attack-conservatives bandwagon is Bill Maher. He is using guilt-by-association to drag Beck’s name through the mud by essentially saying that Beck is exactly like Loughner. Capitalizing on one of the shooter’s YouTube messages where he talked about gold, Maher then said that the only person he knows would say something like that is Beck.

Not happy with taking the shooter’s comments about gold out of context and then unfairly tying them to Beck (did anyone hear Loughner ever advise people to buy gold as a hedge against the lack of confidence in the US dollar?), Maher then went for the jugular by just being nasty as nasty can be. He further opined that Loughner’s “chalkboard” would not look any different than Beck’s famous chalkboard, the insinuation there being that Loughner would be writing the same kind of libertarian and socialist-exposing connections on his theoretical chalkboard as Beck does on his FNC show. Of course, that’s the epitome of total BS, but Maher like all liberals does not give a damn about being remotely close to anything resembling truth. He and his kind wrongfully assume that they smell blood in the water, so they’re continuing to degrade any prominent conservatives (though Beck’s more of a libertarian) they can think of. Just in case no one watching the barely watched Anderson Cooper 360 didn’t get the point, Maher also branded Beck as nutty.

Bill who? Is that guy relevant? Only in his own inflated mind.

HEY BILL .. if Glenn Beck's nutty and like the Giffords shooter, then what does that make those on the left who says these things - Progressive Climate of Hate - an Illustrated Primer 2010 And what about Obama who says to 'punish your enemies' .. in this case the 'enemies' are people who think differently than his target audience ... and Obama who says to bring a gun to a knife fight when talking about a political arena.

Maher is irrelevant and a hypocrite,

I think both Bill Maher and Glenn Beck are very interesting people to watch. They both spew just about the same rhetoric but change the font. And of course Bill is much more intelligent. Both are outspoken, but they make you realize you must think for yourself and not according to anything else. That's why I watch them both and usually dont agree with a single thing they are saying either. Of course, Bill has more of a satirical look upon life. That's just the clever having pride. So I would never take anything he says too seriously. Especially not enough to hate him when all he is is a character on TV. Same goes for Glenn, except he's not clever.

Lighten up. Laugh a bit. Surely the topics aren't laughable, but the people are.

I do find it interesting how the politics have spun off of this incident. Liberals have definitely gone after the violent rhetoric from conservatives, and the conservatives are trying to paint Loughner as a violent liberal - and to say the liberals are playing politics with Gifford's shooting.

I tend to agree with Cenk(a progressive) on this one, though:

Can you please explain why Glenn Becks rants are any saner then Loughners?

Beck has refered to the progressives as being linked in ideology to genocides that historically belong to those on the far right of fascism.
His Documentary Revolutionary Holocaust: Live Free or Die demonstrates Becks disconnect from reality.
www.youtube.com...

Beck has woven conspiracy after conspiracy, fear and paranoia regarding socialism and communism and that it is a danger and must be stopped.

Beck has infered that the President of the United States would set people on fire.
www.youtube.com...

Please explain why Becks rants are any different to Loughners.

Just listen to the man.
He is MENTAL.

Bill Maher is not stating that Beck is loony because of his Political allignment. It is because Beck is actually mental.

Mental.

Well , like Loughner or not, Glenn Beck is certainly not an innocent bystander in terms of his constant fearmongering, incitement to radical behaviour in regular folk, his insistance on targeting the least educated mass of people in a nation, and feeding them what they want to hear.

To be fair to Glenn Beck, he is not a thing like Loughner. For a start Loughner was incapable of any form of reasoned dialogue with anyone (see his alleged posts on this site for examples of his difficulties with communication) as you can see for yourself, which indicates either total lack of education, or severe mental dysfunction of some sort. Glenn Beck as we all know is capable of communicating very efficiently , to hordes upon hordes of people, all of whom understand what he is saying ,wether or not they happen to agree with it.

Loughner also had the capacity to get a gun, and pull out on a crowd of people which just happened to contain a public figure from a party he disliked intensely. Glenn Beck does not use guns to make his point. Mr Beck likes to talk people up into a frenzy of back patting and drooling ignorance, but hes never been one for direct action, although he has stopped just short of recommending it to everyone else .

Loughner in the end, is a small time figure, who never had the communication skills to poision any mind but his own with his veiw of the world, and had to get a gun to make a point that everyone would understand to a degree, and has had precisely a nanosecond of news time in comparison with Mr Beck. Beck however commands great auidiences on both the television and the radio, and furthermore has been in that position for years. He has been able to insert his world veiw into the empty minds of an entire demographic of poorly educated xenophobes and other degenerates, and unfortunately also some perfectly well adjusted folks he seems to have accessed at a moment of weakness, where despite thier inherant intellect, his messege (which is usualy hateful, spiteful, lacking love and compassion or any of the fine virtues of mankind) has seeped into even thier well built minds.

The fact is , that Loughner may have killed quite a few folks in very little time, but Glenn Beck is by far more dangerous. The mind cancer he incites in the minds of huge swathes of people in the US , when it bares its inevitable fruit, could prove far more widespread and horrific in its birth than Loughners sudden choice to go Rambo on a crowd of people. Loughner is a flash in the pan, but Glenn Beck is a volcano waiting to erupt.

While I in no way condone the things Bill said about Beck. It's more of the type of senseless drivel that needs to stop in the media and in the government. I do have one point to make. Just last night, or the night before. Glenn Beck did the same thing with Truthers, comparing them to JLL. Of course he did state right after making the comparison that he wasn't saying Truthers are like JLL. But if that wasn't a point he was trying to convey, why bring up Truthers at all in a tirade against JLL. It's like Sarah Palin making statements in her speeches like "Don't retreat, reload. And that is in no way a call to violence." Making a violent point, and then decrying violence isn't right. And I'm not attacking any one side, both are EQUALLY to blame. These are just the examples I know of. I'm sure many people could provide examples of others who are diametrically opposed politically to the examples I've given and they would be just as valid. Making a connection in the mind of the viewer and then saying you didn't mean the connection is BS. We have a wonderfully diverse language, it's possible to make your point without trying to make a gripping sound bite using inflammatory speech and I would hope those that speak for a living on TV or who were elected to speak for the people could find a way to do so. And lastly, NOBODY is responsible for what JLL did but JLL. Palin is not to blame. It's just that the comparison, however wrong it is, was easy to make and cast a light on something that should have been addressed far before the heinous act that occurred this weekend.

Their both a little nutty, but then anyone can be labeled this if they hold different views. Glenn could be a little less dramatic and Bill a little less biased in my opinion.

"News Article"? Really? What is this, did you link to some high school kid's homepage? Calling that overly generous feels overly generous. I was really disappointed with Maher until I read the "News Article" and watched the clip. Care to elaborate on who this esteemed journalist is?

Edit: "Examiner.Com Vancouver - The Insider Source for Local". I'm just ...I'm at a loss.

It is a blog by someone in Vancouver who lists politics as his hobby.

I guess that makes most of the threads here on ATS "News Articles" too!

I read this thread just to post this....because I can't stand his views.
Bill Maher is the biggest liberal piece of trash in the collective bin of garbage today.
He whines about topics he does absolutely no research on and sit back to collect his multi-million dollar paycheck. I can guarantee if that guy even had to go through one ounce of struggle to make a living, his act would change. Its people like him that give comedy a bad name, because the things he tries to prove are always bashing any type of free-thinking.

He is the perfect slave.
Never questioning authority and always conforming to what the MSM tells him.

His show is garbage and he never has a valid arguement beyond his own opinion.
Of course he supports any gov't spending, program or tax.

Sometimes I think he is programmed to disinform those who agree with him.

As you can tell, I don't like him.
Anything he says is like when Jenneane Garafalo speaks.
Relentless ignorant babble with a side of brain malfunction.
Go smoke some more pot Bill.
You have it all figured out.
Idiot.

Glenn Beck is insane. He peddles in absurd conspiracy theories and not a day goes by that he doesn't say if "X" happens then it will be the "fall of the republic". He's like a charlatan preacher always ranting about the end of the world. He makes most of his money by selling commodities that are driven by fear in the system. On top of that, he's mean spirited and vicious. He paints half of the country as either evil or crazy or anti-American in an attempt to marginalize and vacate the will of the half of the voting populace that doesn't agree with his philosophy.
Everything he says is suspect, from his revisionism of US history to his interpretation of religion, to his political principles.

Bill Maher is a comedian. He is blunt and at times mean spirited. But he is not as detestable as Glenn Beck.

Wow,is this what our society is reduced to. A comedian wants to implicate another person in the Fatial shooting of 6 people one a federal Judge another a little girl. Not to mention the survivors wounded. Do I wish I could make people laugh making such comments....NO ! Do I wish I could get paid ridiculious amounts of money to bend reality...NO !

I only wish the best of life to the OP may your puppet/mime career prosper

Wait... 'attack Conservatives'???

Wasn't enough Conservatives attacked last Saturday? Mrs. Giffords was a Democrat, but a Conservative Democrat who also supported gun rights. Is Bill Maher stupid enough to believe all Republicans are Conservatives and all Democrats are liberal??

Evidence mounts that Jared Loughner, the 22-year-old disturbed individual accused of the attempted assassination of blue dog, conservative Democrat, U.S Representative Gabrielle Giffords; the cold-blooded killing of five other citizens, including an innocent 9-year-old student and a conservative judge; and the wounding of fourteen people — should have been under psychiatric treatment.

Link

And John Roll was a Conservative judge appointed by Bush.

What a buffoon.

It is open season on stupidity... And yes Glenn Beck is right in there with those folks... so is Bill Maher, Palin, and a host of others....

I can't really point but to maybe two or three pundits that don't fall into this category of Moron.
