ATS ploy for media attention, page 2

The following is my opinion as a member participating in this discussion.

I just want to make it clear that my response is as a fellow member, not a moderator...

If you do some digging you'll see that this is not the first shooter that has been associated with ATS. Back then when it came out that the boy was a member of ATS (almost) everyone was frantic and there were several suggestions by members to completely remove any signs that said person was a member of ATS. But that's absurd seeing that ATS reveal cover-ups, they don't create cover-ups. So everything was left as it was. And by those actions lessons were learned...

To be honest: Yes it is embarrassing to see ATS mentioned in news articles describing the actions of a psychopath. If ATS was "clever enough" to create this type of media frenzy, would they really use a negative event in stead of a positive event?

"Publicity, darling. Just publicity. Any kind is better than none at all." or perhaps you know it better as "Any publicity is good publicity"? Personally I don't agree. We don't know how many members (or potential members) we've lost because "ATS is a breeding place for psychopaths"... In my opinion if this circus was a planned ploy by ATS "puppeteers" (

) then it was a really, really stupid idea.

Just saying.

As an ATS Staff Member, I will not moderate in threads such as this where I have participated as a member.

Otherwise I would not be asking for proof still. You are calling me "lame" when all you have done is attack me and still you provide no proof for my original question, none of the post provide any absolute evidence that the two people are one in the same.

No I did not miss all the post on this subject, but they have no relevant bearing on my question as all the post and the link between the shooter is anecdotal as was stated by the owner of this web sight.

OP, it is in my opinion that you stop asking for us to, as was said before, "spoon feed" you the information you seek. It may not be with 100% certainty that we can say Laughner was in fact Erad3...but if you had any real motivation to find out whether or not it was him, why don't you go through the many laughner threads there are now...yes i know there are quite a few of them, but asking us to just research and prove everything just to satisfy you is a crock of...well you know what...go start reading and maybe contribute to other threads instead of making you're own in a half ass attempt to get us to spoon feed this entire dilemma to you

I am not the one who needs to provide evidence, so yes I will keep going on about it, until any one can provide evidence to my original question. I am beginning to believe that ATS is nothing but a bunch of fear mongers that just want attention without providing any proof for their claims.

I have read all the threads associated with the subject, I have never asked you to "spoon feed" me, I simply asked for proof. No one has given me any evidence that the two people are one in the same....

I am NOT calling YOU lame. I said your Opening Post is lame. I don't know you, therefore I have no evidence that you are, indeed, lame.

I have NOT attacked you. I attacked your lame opening post asking other members to look for the answers you are completely capable of getting.

Mr Lizard, however, has provided just a bit of evidence to counter your assertions.

If you're a long time lurker and don't like being patronised, allow me ask - have you viewed any of the videos? Also, have you read any of the posts by Erad3?

Can you not see a single similarity? Not even one?

This is not proof per se, but then when you see... One, two, three.... six, eight ten similarities on many levels, of writing style content, context and subject, you begin to question things.

How can you not see this?

But then again NOBODY on ATS is officially saying it is him, we're using a technique called the art of deduction, and every member and every moderator feels scrutinised somewhat, so comments that clearly come from someone who either hasn't seen the posts or videos or is pretending not to, isn't too cool.

Go and watch them, go and read the posts and come back and see if you see anything that looks similar.

If you were looking for iron clad proof that erad3 was Loughner then, short of Mr Loughner issuing a statement to that effect, publicly, you will remain disappointed.

ATS staff will not release personal information about members to us. Even having said that, all that the ATS staff, themselves, would have to go by is a record of IP addresses, used to access an account, and an email address used to create the account.

Frankly, ATS has many things going on which they would LOVE media attention for. ATS Live, for example - a radio show that has a good chance of becoming syndicated, in my opinion. Believe me when I say that ATS, as a community, does NOT want attention on these terms, in this situation. We have enough going on that is positive, educational, and creative not to have to resort to jumping on this tragic and unnecessary act of evil.

The ATS management thread addressing this issue was spin control, not opportunism.

From this just posted thread, an article about Loughners probable connection to ATS.

From February 2009 through September 2010, someone using the name "Erad3" made these and a series of other assertions -- unusual at best, disturbed at worst -- on the website abovetopsecret.com.

Erad3, according to site co-owner Mark Allin, was almost certainly Jared Lee Loughner, the 22-year-old man accused of killing six people and injuring 14 others last weekend, including U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, D-Arizona.

Can ATS at least provide an IP address from his postings that would prove that they came from the Arizona area. Maybe I missed those facts if they where posted? If ATS can provide that info then at least we all could do a "WHOIS" look to determine the origination of the posts, that would put us all that much closer to the truth.

The IP doesnt have to be his machine address, just a local area IP for the gateway router....
