It seems that DUpont has known for some time that some of the chemicals it uses to make teflon are quite toxic.

The Environmental Protection Agency (news - web sites) alleges that from 1981 to 2001, DuPont failed to comply with federal reporting requirements regarding the synthetic chemical perfluorooctanoic acid, known as PFOA or C8.

People who live near the plant are filing a class action lawsuit aginst DuPont for contaminating thier groundwater. Makes you wonder what otehr time bombs are lurking out there. DuPont has maintained that this stuff is pefectly safe. I wonder if any of them live near the plant?

Just another "check mark" in my book against the DuPonts.

They seem to be popular among the press groups these days, more than usual anyways.
