And it is about time Politicians in the UK grew some, and finally said NO to the US. The UK is no longer, and never was a Superpower. We in the UK need to recognise that.

,We had the biggest empire in history!

Yes, note the "had" in your sentence there.

He's quite right, we're not a superpower.

The term was coined by the American political scientist William Fox in around 1944 or 1945.

The basic definition of which is for a country to be able to act unilaterally. From a military point of view right about now, I don't think that's possible for us to do.

Hence our joining with France.

You know things are bad when Im actually thinking how much better off we'd be with The Donald as our president.

A few years ago, I would have laughed at the notion, but he announced hes going to run in 2012 under this premise:

Donald Trump discusses how Chinese manufacturing and imports affect the U.S. economy and why the U.S. needs to restore it's manufacturing base. Trump also discusses what actions should be taken to lessen the trade deficit and stimulate U.S. manufacturing. "They're laughing at us they think we're so stupid, and our representatives are so stupid."

You have to admit..... he's right

I always classed southerners as french anyway.

A bit of snow and its "arrrgghhh, run away! Get in landrover the Tarquin quick!"
Or in conversations (posh accent) "Yes, we season in la province and eat foie gras".

You must have met the DFLs then, while they where out walking chocolate the labradoodle

I am sure they where put on this planet to give everyone a good giggle.

ETA:
But not very French I'm afraid... The word wallop became synonymous with a beating or good hiding due to the French burning my home town "Brighton" to the ground and in return Sir John Wallop was sent by Henry 8th and in reprisal burnt down 21 towns, some ports, lots of French ships..

I suggest you read the Rules of Engagement again, or you may be removed from posting. Don't be so sarcastic, as this is an international site.

He is entitled to his opinion as much as you are, if you do not like his comments, then do not read them, or better still, place him on ignore, then you wont see or read his postings.

I'm about ready to toss the American one, with this sort of garbage.

Even if you were gonna do this (which you aren't), i doubt they would care.

I know they're a tabloid, but why are the not a reliable source?

Anyway, France is currently run by a man very similar to Obama, so in his eyes he is a good ally. They're both ultra bureaucratic federalists.

Ro the OP: Calling Obama a "rabid socialist" is offensive to the millions who live(d) under oppressive Communist rule. Seriously, get some perspective.

There is a lot of rubbish in the dm with intentionally anger provoking headlines to further an agenda.

This, as one poster pointed out via whitehouse transcripts, is on the money.

And Britain is not deemed worthy enough anymore, what? no more invitations to supply troops for US target practice?
