That is very weak reasoning. You are comparing access to a gun to access to oxygen, the taxi and the congresswoman?

Wow. I had always thought the 'right to bear arms' argument was illogical but now I know why.

I was simply pointing out the terribly weak reasoning in the post I quoted ! As I applied the very same logic.
takeoff eh! Reading comprehension not your strong "suit"?

Bollocks. Do you have a link for that?

You do realise I live here right? Yes, the laws were tightened for gun ownership (NOT taken away - you just have to provide good reason and make sure they are properly secured when not in use) but I don't see the streets running with blood and murders happening like your post describes. Wait - let me look out the window and check......hmmmm.........ummmmm.......nope, sorry I cannot see any evidence of what your post describes.

If you look at the attached link, you would see the scale of all deaths and there percentages. Not just by " accidents", but deaths in a whole. Or did you not get that far? You simply started to comment without reviewing the stats?

How can I review the link when you did not post it for me to click?

How quickly you resort to attacking.............god i'm glad I don't live near you and your guns.......

EDIT: I noticed you editted your post and added it, I shall review it now........

In which case you would live as a slave after turning in the tool of freedom.

The Constitution expressly protects our right to bear arms, no matter what people in DC say.

Unconstitutional laws need not be followed, according to the founding fathers.

"No legislative act … contrary to the Constitution can be valid. To deny this would be to affirm that the deputy is greater than his principal; that the servant is above his master; that the representatives of the people are superior to the people themselves; that men acting by virtue of powers may do not only what their powers do not authorize, but what they forbid." - Alexander Hamilton

Would you still turn them in?

The problem with these libs is that they don't understand that our rights are God given! They prefer not to believe in a higher power than the government. That's why we have all these inane "debates" about our rights. We don't have any rights to commodities (healthcare, education, etc), only rights inherent to being human (life, liberty, free pursuits). They prefer a wienie lawyer turned legislator whittle our freedom down to a nub.

God given rights...

m'kay.

Care to point out the relevant bible passage?

Yeah, why bother with facts when you can make something up

More guns = more gun crime.
It's that simple.

Guns are only a tool.

Any tool can be used for the wrong purpose.

Well said...if this guy went on a chainsaw rampage and started hacking up people, what would they do? Ban chainsaws?

The facts still remain, that guns are only inanimate objects. Its all within the hands of the beholder. And yet these leftist freaks wish to abolish a right, all because the actions of a few? How does one draw that conclusion? It amazes me how idiotic these views are?

And notice, they never submit actual " numbers " with their cry foul attempts? Never any statistics that show there are more deaths in this country caused by other means. Guns, believe it or not, have a very small percentage of deaths.

source ; webappa.cdc.gov...

also:

Firearms 3,951 2.5% 2,272 0.9% 1,941 0.4% 1,723 0.2% 600 0.1% 18 5.1%

Motor Vehicle Accidents 5,361 3.3% 3,506 1.5% 3,038 0.7% 3,173 0.5% 1,288 0.2% 26 7.3%

OK so I reviewed the link and my point still stands - you are comparing deliberate firearms deaths to accidents and health issues deaths.

So death is defined, by your own logic, only by the means the death occurred?

Wow, those links are from like 14 years ago, while there was a short period of unrest then I'm still not looking out my window and seeing rivers of blood as you suggest I should be.

More guns = more crime?

Please show where this has been demonstrated through statistics or otherwise. I would like to see this revolutionary piece of evidence you have that would silence the 2A crowd altogether, that no one else has been able to come up with.

There is only one way to stop gun crime. I know it is a novel idea, but I present it here anyway. PUNISH THE CRIMINALS WHO COMMIT THE CRIMES, NOT INNOCENT GUN OWNERS, SELLERS, AND MANUFACTURERS!

I propose a Federal law that makes it a Capitol crime to have a gun in your possession while committing any other crime. I further propose that the sentencing be carried out within 24 months. Because we spend too much money housing and coddling inmates while they await their fate on death row, we could hire lawyers, clerks, forensic specialists, and judges to expedite these cases and probably spend less cash than keeping these people on death row for forty years.

Once everyone sees that gun crime results in the ultimate punishment being quickly administered, the gun crime rate should go down.

I agree those clips shouldn't be on the market. Why would anyone argue that. I also support gun owners, but I don't think people need things like that, or armor piercing rounds.

Gun Control is Not about Guns , it is about CONTROL.

I do not agree with the idea that Americans would turn over their Guns if tomorrow it became illegal for them to own Guns.

Americans have Never been without Guns and asking them to submit to such a law would be like outlawing Apple Pie. Sure some would cave in from the fear of the Police State in America, but that would be a very small fraction of the Guns now in the United States.

Americans have the Right to Bear Arms for only one reason, and that is to protect the Constitution from all enemies who wish to destroy it. So if the Government trys to take the Right to Bear Arms away it is the DUTY of the American Citizen to Protect the Constitution.

Bottom line is WE the People of the United States MUST protect the Constitution from ALL ENEMIES FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC to ensure our Union is preserved. Like it or not IT IS OUR GIVEN DUTY, a Requirment as a Citizen of the United States.
