Please work on your English or buy a new keyboard. Maybe put this in a word program and spell check before you start ranting. You your self are looking very STUPID with your grammar.

Your rant made no sense. Again this is a terrible post and you guys are basing your want for a ban on no real facts. Please provide any that they should be banned and that crime would be down if they were gone.

If gun control is the holy grail of crime managment...explain this?

In Canada (my country) violent crime was decreasing PRIOR to gun control.

After gun control was enacted there was a slight rise.

Now, violent crime is decreasing again.

We can assume (as the police here do) that the slight increase right after gun control was criminals trying to take advantage over citizens. That, however, passed quickly.

If guns were the big issues, why was there no real change in the violent crime rate pattern (decreasing)?

This tells me that guns are not the primary issue at all. I would love to discuss what the primary issue might be, and I think everybody would love a solution.

Meh. You can argue both sides. Personally I think we are better off without guns. And if we needed them to fight off the government, we would find a way to get guns. They are barbaric and we don't need them.

Whats barbaric is a government stating that private citizens cannot own a means of self defense.

Whats even worse, is that people will give government that power because they are frightened of an object that poses no threat to anyone when it isnt being operated by a human.

What do guns have to do with fighting the government? 50% of people in the US or more who own guns use them to hunt. What does this all have to do with fighting the government. I do not understand anyone's logic on this. It seams we have stepped into a realm of "guns are bad they kill people" "guns are good we can fight the government with them".

We have the right to bare arms. Simple as that. Read into it how you will the way I see it is I have the right to use my fire arms for hunting as they have always been used. Yes they were used to fight wars and still are, but to a owner of a gun now they use guns to hunt animals for a source of food. This is still relevant as ever. I have 150+lbs of game meat in a freezer. This will not change.

I don't keep a gun by my bed they are locked up in a gun safe until I go hunting. I do not use them for safety or protection. You tell me why I shouldn't have a right to use my gun this way or own one. Tell me give me a real good reason as to why? Not because "guns are bad no one should have one" You tell me a real good reason. Please.

I agree with you there.

I too believe that the whole world would be better without guns.

That is why I happily live in a country with gun control.

But I also believe that each country is entitled to be run as the citizens of that country see fit.

And I also really hate when people used flawed excuses for arguements.

IMHO the problems are not gun related, they are people related, and the US needs to find out quick why such a large percentage (relatively speaking) is so prone to violence.

They can't support their argument with facts because the only good points they have to make are:
-that Americans are insane hill billies
-that Americans roam the street shooting each other up for the fun of it
-that guns are too dangerous for the general public (lmao at that, how lowly do you look at yourself that you can't trust yourself with a gun?)
-that guns make the world a worse place

None of those arguments are any good and would never be accepted by an audience Honestly, not one of the anti-gun posts was well thought-out. They're all just ranting that we just want to kill each other and so what if we do? It's our damn country. If you are happy to submit to the government and be treated like an invalid, fine, go for it. Don't expect me to pitch myself in with such types, though.

I find it highly immoral (not a religious level so much as a right/wrong level) to not stand up for yourself. Your self is your one and only true priority. So, why give up freedoms which allow you to protect it easier, even i it endangers other? People die everyday, some, luckily, of natural causes, others not so natural. That's the way of the world. The Earth will never be a wholly peaceful place so long as it's inhabited by Humans. Guns will always be there and civilians will acquire them, illegally or not.

I just don't get what the problem is with letting sane, responsible people have guns. Sure, some crazies will get through the cracks, some crazies are going to kill people anyway. The gun's not the issue, the person is.

Don't you guys know already...

[atsimg]http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/357b5fa4da33.jpg[/atsimg]

But in all seriousness I agree that you should be allowed to have a gun if you want and if you don't like guns don't get one, that simple. Both pro-gun and anti-gun have shown some excellent points. I also think that you shouldn't just be allowed to have one, you should have to earn the right to have one, I would be concerned if people who have mental problems are in possesion of a gun or a criminal did and I didn't.

Remember that guy who went into the school and and spray painted the V for vendetta on the wall and shot at the school board. Those people had no chance until a security guard shot the man. People have to remeber there are criminals and they will have high powered guns wherever you are, there is no way of getting rid of them. If I knew others had guns I wouldn't want to attack those people because it would be alot harder to do.

This is not just here though. I posted some links that show crime per percent of people. Its a world wide thing. Also I bet more crimes are reported here then in most of the other countries. This is just my opinion.

Uh, the 2nd Amendment has nothing to do with hunting.

It was included so that the people would have the means to overthrow the government should it ever become tyrannical.

I am speaking of the right to bare arms I may have wrote that wrong and you can see it as they have the right to rise up with weapons against the government I see it as we have the right to use our firearms as I stated. I do not see a reason to rise against our government unless it was the last resort. We should be able to have open discussion and decide as a country guns should not be involved with how to deal with the government.

Actually, I saw a young man interviewed on CBS that was at the event and said he was carrying his gun. He said he was around the corner when he heard shots and ran toward the sound of the shots. I was actually surprised they aired an interview with him.

I don't think the U.S. should "ban" guns.

I think they should "REMOVE" them instead, along with the target every U.S. citizen carries on them too.

Big difference. Because something is banned doesn't mean it still won't be accessible to those who wish to break the law.

Let's face it...in reality, Americans will keep on killing eachother, it's their right. Period.

True they shouldnt be the first topic of discussion when it comes to dealing with government, but they must always remain the final option.

Again where is your reasoning. Look at the links I posted or can you not look at them. Is something blocking your vision? It is not an America thing. GO AND LOOK! The links are a few pages back.

I keep on hearing about "common sense" gun control, but have to wonder who's common sense are we to use? In reality, gun control only hurts the citizens who can legally possess guns. It will never stop the one-nut wonders who are bent on killing others. It will never stop drug dealers from obtaining weapons. It will never stop criminals from perpetrating crimes using guns on others. End of.

Look at any country where it is illegal to own or posses a pistol or shot gun. Find one and look up gun related murders. Hey why are they high gee I wonder how can that be.

Thats right taking away guns is the agenda of the socialists. To make us into sheeple so we cannot defend ourselves.
Oh you dont like that.
Here drink this coolaid it will make you feel all better.

You can crow about your guns in America...but compare the murder rates for Toronto and Detroit...about 10 times higher per capita in Detroit.

You may have a right to your firearms (and we have legal guns, too, though more controlled), but you'd better add your national psyche to the equation.

And do you know who is committing those crimes that are ten times
higher per capita in Detroit? Guess what? It is by criminals. What part
of that don't you understand. The people that ARE NOT doing the crimes
are the 98% of citizens who are honest and not killing and robbing
people. It is the 2% or so that are hard core criminals doing all of the
crimes. Why is this so terribly hard to comprehend? Criminals don't give
a crap about laws and regulations. If every gun was turned in by all of the
LAW ABIDING citizens, the criminals would be the ones that own guns.
Remember, they don't give a crap about laws. And what does the citizen
have to defend their homes and lives with? Sticks? Rocks? Baseball bat?
Sure, take away all of the guns, so we can all be SAFE.

I am only attacking his grammar for the fact he is calling Americans stupid and can not even write a understandable post. If his post was understandable and you were able to read it even a little bit without 300 mistakes then I wouldn't have brought it up. If you want to call all Americans stupid for the actions of others then please be able to type it correctly.

Sorry to go off topic I will not respond if its not on topic again.

It seems to me that people are missing half the argument. No one here is questions should the government have guns. Why should the government be able to use them to murder people but not your neighbor. They both do it in self interest and violate the right to life of someone else. No matter a countries view on gun control, they all feel that they are the only ones who have the right to kill and that is where their power comes from. Until the government decides to give up their guns I don't see the point in making citizens give up theirs. So before you denounce your 'hillbilly' neighbor for wanting to have a gun maybe you should look at your hillbilly government who under Republican and Democrat control murder a lot more people then it's citizens do.
