Please remind me as to whose economy is collapsing ...Canada or the US?

What about Germany? Largest economy in Europe. Social Programs....and beginning to grow.

This is an excellent example of why you should look outwards.

Every country operates differently, some are succeeding others are failing...you want to take ideas from the succeeding ones.

Wrong on the very basic level of personal freedom. If more Americans would open their eyes beyond their continental shores, then there would be hope.

I knew there was a reason we left Britian. One of our basic levels of freedom is our right to bear arms as a responsible, law abiding citizen. I have a right and a means to defend my family, state, country and property. What are you going to do if another country came into the UK to take your country over? Are you going to throw stones at them, old Beattle albums, go in and cower in a corner waiting for your police with no guns to come save you, wait for your military which will include us, so you would also be killing Americans because your gov took your right away to defend yourself, sorry about your bad luck. Don't worry, will come save you when come calling for help because your have a country full of defenseless citizens and your getting your arse kicked.

I apologize about the anti-gun bit, I incorrectly assumed that due to the topic being about guns.

And your absolutely right about having differing views.

I see helping my fellow countrymen as an honour.

You can view that however you want.

I have no problem with helping those who NEED it. I have a problem with the government taking my money to support illegals, moochers, whiners, other countries, abortion etc....

I think the problem is a lack of understanding of why we have guns in the U.S. and the second amendment. The entire point of the second amendment is not for Hunting rights or sportsmen. It is there for the sole purpose of disposing of a tyrannical government if the need should arise. The Second Amendment is the "Big Red Reset Button" that the founders placed in the Constitution to make sure a free country remains free. No more no less.

Personally, I think it's more a matter of needing a miltia to cover the fact that the standing army was small, and Hercules was still a story...not a transport.

But I agree with the rest of your post. It's an American thing, it doesn't directly (exactly) impact me, and I'm not going to tell you it's wrong. Mind you, I don't relish being called a Socialist slave because I have different values...know what I mean? (not talking to you byb)
And to those who do tell you how wrong you are...they are cordially invited not to visit, right?

Mandatory gun laws

"When the law was passed in 1982 there was a substantial drop in crime ... and we have maintained a really low crime rate since then," said police Lt. Craig Graydon. "We are sure it is one of the lowest (crime) towns in the metro area.

I remembered this and just used in a recent post of mine...

Note low crime then run it on google and watch the complaints... it seemed to have worked

Are you in Canada? Sorry but your speech seems broken.

If you note, FreeQuebc86 says quite clearly in an earlier post that English is not his first language. I'll tell you now, his English is a lot better than my French. Of course...that Quebec thing in his nickname is generally a giveaway.

My Canada includes Quebec...but we can do without open carry permits.

I just dont get why people should have the right to own a gun which can be used to kill someone !
Even if it is in self defense
If all the world banned the production of guns , and shut down every weapons manufacturer on the planet then the world would indeed be a better place !

Only problem is that our stupid governments are so paranoid that their fellow human neighbours are going to invade them !

If I was some brilliant scientists I'd invent some sort of nanomachine which destroys all weapons around the world.
guns are for the weak , you should be able to defend yourself without a gun.

Look, we can argue with these liberals until we are blue in the face. They just refuse to accept the truth. Just like the refuse to accept the truth about taxation. They have their own paradigm and they are boxed into it. This is why some call liberalism a mental disorder. I do not know if that is true, but I have seen that they refuse to accept reality. I instead they want to immediately jump to some perfect world that cannot exist now.

I'm sorry but that was a slur. Some wish Liberalism was a disorder but did you know that soon this site and people like you will be called the mental disorder? Really? Heard of ‘crippled epistemology’? Its on this site: ATS New Post So no, wasn't berating you, they have made it the new mental illness. HA.
First, if you want all Americans to wake up, stop helping divide us!
Second, Liberals see your rights as being your rights. Every law that contributes to your Liberity was because of liberals. Just because conservatives are still on the gun rights side means nothing. They will change when TPTB tell them, its time.
Third, I'm a liberal most of the time. Does that mean the times I'm not that I'm mentally challenged or something? The answer is no.
Most of us are on the fence in America. Sometimes we are liberal and sometimes conservative DEPENDING ON THE TOPIC! Why can't Democrats and Republicans be that way, I wonder?
* Anyway, on guns - from my cold dead hands. I don't trust the government and never will. They fear what they cannot run over and we are a wedge. I like that!
* On NWO - not on my turf bud.
* On other countries chiming in on this debate: I've got an issue and that is this;
If you are speaking from personal experience and have never been in the US, I'll listen, but I will not have you calling us names because until you walk that mile in my moccasins, you have no clue. I can also say because of my work, I meet people from all over the world. The very first time one of them is mugged, the group is asking if they can get permits. HA! Get a frame of reference and not just this "you know nothing" mantra. I can say stuff the way you do, but I choose not to. I'm not going to berate you just because you are not from here. But I do not have to accept your mantra in my march. So keep the insults to yourself.
* If you are jealous because we can protect ourselves and you cannot because your government won't let you have a gun, tough. That's your problem. I can care less how you handle criminals, but I can say this: How's your innocence lately? Suffer much? Can't protect them because you are so highly moral that its more important for them to be maimed? We have a saying here: Sounds like a personal problem to me.
Oh and I will say this:
They give me my own personal cop, I'll give up my gun.
Nuff said!

all governmental jargon aside i don't see nothing wrong with shooting a bunch of empty cans an hour or two before sunset. shooting usually helps me relax, focus, kill time when i got it, and it has helped me in writing fiction.

how did this conversation go from 'eliminating guns' to collapsing economieS all around the world?

i'm not in Germany and they are having quite a few problems of their own.

I always look outward, how do you think i saw the threat coming and took photos ?

ummmm, there is no country that has a more successful record than the US. sure we are stumbling at this moment in time, but we have before and we probably will again. but, today doesn't define tomorrow and certainly doesn't change yesterday.

so, when you find any country that instills, practices and enforces a Constitutional guarantee to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, i'd be glad to compare, otherwise, there is no comparison.

New Jersey, most restrictive gun laws in the USA = Highest gun crime rate in USA

Oh and break into my home with my family inside, im not calling the police with a 20minute response time and hiding in the closet.

In fact if you put a sign in front of your house "Beware Gun Owner" aint nobody comin in. Thugs cant shoot straight and are only all aggressive when they think they have a gamechanger you dont

In WWII, Japan's highest ranking naval officer was Isoruku Yamamoto. Although he was Japanese, and his loyalties were unquestionably with The Empire, he studied for many years in America, graduating from Harvard University. There is an oft-repeated (and sometimes disputed) quote attributed to him regarding the possibility of any nation taking a war to American soil:

"You cannot invade the mainland United States. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass."

Here is why he was correct:

America's Hunters. The World's Largest Army.

The state of Wisconsin has gone an entire deer hunting season without someone getting killed. That's great, considering there were over 600,000 hunters that got permits th is year.

Allow me to restate that number.

Over the last two months, the eighth largest army in the world - more men under arms than Iran; more than France and Germany combined - deployed to the woods of a single American state to keep the deer population under control.

But that pales in comparison to the 750,000 who are in the woods of Pennsylvania this week. Michigan's 700,000 hunters have now returned home. Toss in a quarter million hunters in West Virginia, and it is literally the case that the hunters of those four states alone would comprise the largest army in the world.

And that is just FOUR states.
The total population of registered hunters in America today ranges from 23 million to 43.7 million individuals. (Based on annual data provided by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.)

As long as the American Hunter retains his right to Bear Arms, America will forever be safe from foreign invasion of troops.

Hunting - it's not just a way to fill the freezer. It's a matter of national security.

YOUR RIGHTS IN CANADA

First and foremost, remember that the US Bill of Rights ends at the US/Canadian border. Canada is an independent and sovereign country; the US constitution and US laws have no force in Canada.

There is no equivalent to the US Second Amendment in Canada. Nor is there an equivalent to the US Fourth and Fifth Amendments; Canadian firearms laws permit warrantless searches and seizures and compulsion to testify against yourself, overriding language to the contrary in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

REMEMBER
There is no Right to Keep and Bear Arms in Canada
Your RKBA rights cease the moment you step foot across the border!

Our laws don't apply in the US either.
Aside from the fact that you've bumbled over the Charter...what's your point?

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but can someone tell me of the last time that they've known a law abiding criminal? Criminals do not obey laws.

Therefore, laws have no affect on the criminals. Thus, laws only affect law-abiding citizens, not criminals. As to what many other people have said, guns don't kill people, people kill people.

Both points have been made and continually ignored by the gun hating liberals on the site.
