You can take a picture with FLIR if your system is set up for it. It isn't very good for spying, but it is usable.

Hmm again? Last year they also lost a U2 in Korea: www.kimsoft.com...

The SR-71 officially got replaced by satellites, the sr-71 wasn't cheap; +/- $38,000 per flying hour, the U2 'only' $6,000. Also the sr-71 was expensive to operate $200 million - $300 million each year.

or you simply could have said that they cannot do the job because it's very easy to track sattelites, so what needs to be hidden can and will be while the sattelite has a view.
