Odd how that is exactly the response I expected to get. I am honestly asking why YOU THINK it would be in poor taste to leave them up. The entire defense here is that they were had nothing to do with shooting or getting shot so what is the proplem now?

Make up your minds. Were the gunsights a bad idea or not? Cannot have it both ways.

What I find interesting is the lack of compassion from people who should be more worried about one of their own, and are so filled with hate they forgot she is still fighting for her life.

I didn't know much about her, but she certainly seemed like a wonderful fair person who was a centrist, something we need more of, I wonder what she would think .

No.

And just as I think it ridiculous to blame Palin for this criminal's actions, it is equally ridiculous to blame any of these books.
edit on 9-1-2011 by loam because: (no reason given)

I never blamed Palin. I suggested that she and Angle be careful in the future with what they say. The fact that Palin is taking down those pictures would suggest at least one of them agrees with me.

Why do you feel that you have to control the narritive of what other pols say? It's obvious you don't like Palin. Kay. But she should be free to say what she wants, and how she wants.
Run against her. Call her out. But to determine what she should say?
Round and round we go. . . . . .

My friend you accuse me of unjust hyperbole in saying dear Sarah is guilty, right?

Well I think if what I said was heard by millions then I assure you I might be more restrained.

That’s my point.

You bring up one nondescript congressmen who uses the same metaphor and some statements by Obama, which BTW seem mild in comparison, but the point is that if you weigh the amount of dangerous rhetoric the left has done against the right there is no comparison.

Mild to whom? Isnt that a bit subjective? or are you to be the judge of what is severe and what is not?
Are you the one whose goign to say what sets someone off?

The same argument youve been using, can be used to disassemble the whole post im replying to

Look, the whole point is: Every time someone goes on a murderous killing spree against politicians you have the usual suspects instigating it. I dont know how many times "The Communist Manifesto" and the socialist "Mein Kampf" show up in the lists of deranged whackos. Its no coincidence that these books have led to regimes that have killed more than 400 Million people.

Targeting innocent and decent citizens such as Sarah Palin as the cause of the atrocities sounds like just the thing the very same people who read "Communist Manifesto" would do.

That wasnt the question.........the question was "if she didnt think she caused it why did she take them down"

its pretty simple really , when you arent trying to obfuscate the issue to perpetuate the partisan b.s.

Same with Sarah Palin. Should she shut up because someone twigged on something she did?

Plus they have no proof what so ever that Palin's ad had anything to do with motivating the shooter,

none,

Or what Saul Alinsky would do.

Just putting it out there. . . . .

OMG...are you guys suggesting "Mein Kampf" is not a book about Socialism? This place is just too bizzarre. Talk about revising History.

Both the "Communist Manifesto" and "Mein Kampf" are socialist hate-speech that are all about bringing the system down. Kids read it and if they are mentally unstable, they go kill.

Its as simple and clear cut as that.

I completely agree.........that should be the real news, and the real concern.......but atleast they have brought themselves and their intentions out into the open....and as of this post.....ill have nothing to do with it......

Everyone more worried with blaming some side of the political line for this instead of the well being of this woman and the families of those killed.....

SHOULD BE ASHAMED

I know, but I was trying to use "their" example to illustrate my point.
But your point is very valid.

Well, don't forget Obama's 'enemy' comment too, but I guess that wont really matter to you either.

Obama to Latinos – 'Punish Our Enemies' -- And that is the President of the United States calling other Americans the enemy.

Frankly, it's seems pointless to continue these discussions with you, because you keep changing the standard.

So Palin reaches millions...check.

Obama and a Congressman don't. M'kay.

What about posts found here? Do millions see these?

If someone from ATS offs Palin, can we safely assume you will be ok with the authorities rounding some of you up because of your anti-Palin posts?

I agree that the shooter wasn't influenced by Palin...

Perhaps he was influenced by this favorite Right Wing Conservative catch phrase...

"The Tree of Liberty needs to be watered with the Blood of Tyrants"

Who makes that decision?

TERRORISTIC THREAT

(a) A person commits an offense if he threatens to commit any offense involving violence to any person or property with intent to:

cause a reaction of any type to his threat[s] by an official or volunteer agency organized to deal with emergencies;
place any person in fear of imminent serious bodily injury;
prevent or interrupt the occupation or use of a building; room; place of assembly; place to which the public has access; place of employment or occupation; aircraft, automobile, or other form of conveyance; or other public place;
cause impairment or interruption of public communications, public transportation, public water, gas, or power supply or other public service;
place the public or a substantial group of the public in fear of serious bodily injury; or
influence the conduct or activities of a branch or agency of the federal government, the state, or a political subdivision of the state.

How many of us would be questioned or charged of a terroristic threat if our personal website mirrored Sarah Palin's?

I am still not sure what you point is. You misconstrued his favorites books for some reason. Apparently one you are not willing to share. He had a lot of favorite books and you want to pick one and say it means he was a lefty, then pick two, distort one and use it to say he was a lefty. OK! I never said he was a righty or a lefty. What I said was that politicians should not suggest killing people. It is just not a good thing to do.

The guy was a nutjob; he was going to be set off by something. It's always Russian Roulette as to what sets off crazy people. Sarah Palin is not responsible for that man's actions; he is.

Why all the twisting? It is pretty simple. I asked you why they were in poor taste, as per your answer. I explained why I asked that. Why can you not just answer it?

I never said otherwise. What is your argument?

Ummm... I believe all I am doing is calling her out. Are you trying to regulate my speech?
