According to caitieparker tweets (posted in here) this guy was

"quite liberal & oddly obsessed with the 2012 prophecy"

Question:

Are Liberals known to be oddly obsessed with 2012 prophecy?

I get your general point and even agree with it to an extent. But you betray your own sentiment when you make it 'Palin types' or specifically single her out and accuse her of 'guilt'.

I've already shown where the same irresponsible rhetoric comes from the other side. Why focus only on those from the apparent political party you favor least?

For convenience, I'll quote one of my previous posts:

So who gets to determine what is self control? If I said something you object to, then you could accuse me of not having "self control".

I am not sure about you but I live in a society. As a whole, adults can usually agree that talking about killing people is not appropriate political fare. You can decide for yourself but that does not mean everyone needs to approve of it.

Be careful with what they say? What gives you or anyone else the right to make that determnination?

Nothing. I am not demanding, commanding, or ordering anyone to do anything. I am suggesting something. I can do that. Free speech and all.

You're asking that they CHOOSE their words more carefully? What words should they CHOOSE? Would you supply a list?

Let's not play stupid, I have a feeling you will win. If you cannot understand the difference between discussing political differences and suggesting someone take up guns against a democratically elected leader then you should maybe grow up a little.

If you don't like what someone is saying. . . . "STOP LISTENING!!!!!"

I am not worried about me taking a suggestion. I am worried that some nut or moron just might do something crazy like actually go out and shoot a congressperson. Crazy huh?

The killers favorite book was the "Communist Manifesto". Id say his rage was caused by reading that kind of literature, not by Sarah Palin.

Loam, where are you on this loose with the facts stuff? Can you please verify his favorite book was the communist manifesto and not actually one of his favorite books along with the ultra right mein kompf?

If Palin doesn’t think her political threats such as she had on her site and her constant “reload” reference she is so fond of, then why did she take it down?

I don’t think even that dense woman will ever use such dangerous words directed towards people.

Apparently "Communist Manifesto" and "Mein Kampf" (a book about a collectivist/socialist Germany) were among his favorite books.

Its no surprise really. Usually when youngsters go on murderous killing sprees you find hate-literature started it all.

Thats a fairly easy one, it has nothing to do with her thinking that it CAUSED these people to be shot....

Its because she WAS shot and to have them up now would be in poor taste........its called empathy for the people and the situation.......

But seeing as how everyone is so dead stuck on blaming a side and continuing the partisan rhetoric, this explanation will probably be written off........

A long list of favorite books includes Animal Farm, Brave New World, The Wizard Of Oz, Aesop's Fables, and The Odyssey. He also lists Alice's Adventures In Wonderland, The Communist Manifesto, Siddhartha, and Hitler’s Mein Kampf.

Ah that old Hitler was a liberal argument again huh? Tell me something. How many books does he have listed as favorites? Why did you only post one of them and claim it was THE favorite?

Thank you. That's the point I'm trying to make. If we have to live in fear that any nut might "misinterpret" what I, you, anyone else has to say, then free speech is dead.
Nuts are always going to exist. The colour blue might set off the next nutcase. Would you suggest we stop wearing that colour?
Same with Sarah Palin. Should she shut up because someone twigged on something she did? It looks like this guy was left-ish. I have not called for a ban on MSNBC. They are too dang funny to shutdown, but I digress.

Yes, I have seen the list of his favorite books many times. Do you see anywhere that he states "The Communist Manifesto" is his favorite book or would you call that kind of statement loose on facts?

I believe the actual quote is, "Don't retreat, just reload."

Sounds pretty darned awesome to me. But then again, I am a right-wing, gun-nut, independent, Tea Party member.

The fact that you have to even ask that question really shakes my confidence in peoples thought processes........and im not trying to be ugly......it really really does.

No.

And just as I think it ridiculous to blame Palin for this criminal's actions, it is equally ridiculous to blame any of these books.

You could not run for public office with referencing the murder of another person? You need that for free speech to be alive?

Nuts are always going to exist. The colour blue might set off the next nutcase. Would you suggest we stop wearing that colour?

You cannot see the difference between saying someone should be killed and the color blue?

Looks like the guy was nuts right down the middle of the road. What link does he have to MSNBC? When did they suggest 2nd ammendment remedies?
You really think it is insane for me to suggest these people act like grownups and discuss policy instead of gun laden catch phrases? Is that really what you are arguing?

My friend you accuse me of unjust hyperbole in saying dear Sarah is guilty, right?

Well I think if what I said was heard by millions then I assure you I might be more restrained.

That’s my point.

You bring up one nondescript congressmen who uses the same metaphor and some statements by Obama, which BTW seem mild in comparison, but the point is that if you weigh the amount of dangerous rhetoric the left has done against the right there is no comparison.

Odd to see the day that I defend Palin. Never thought it would come, but here it is.

That someone would attribute her with prompting these murders, is ridicuous.

She is an Alaskan, and a hunter. To use words in fundraising which use hunting as an analogy would be normal for her. She has removed the words, not because she is guilty, but because she feels if some lunatic could go psycho with reading them, like blaming a movie, or blaming the content of a book, then she best not risk it.

There are always going to be psycho killers. I think the only solutions we can entertain is to try to identify them before it happens. Think of the Virginia Tech killer. Who knew? But sometimes they drop hints with their families and friends, and sometimes on you-tube, and other internet sites.

Maybe a task-force site should be developed to report possible threats when they appear for investigation.
No doubt reports and investigations would be made of harmless individuals. But an investigation never killed anybody.

Sarah Palin is not responsible for this. It cruel and vile to even say it.
