not trying to stick up for these folk but could it be a virus type thing?

what i mean is that one might watch a little girl on girl and inadvertently have something dropped onto their hd?

the reason i say this is that if you surf /b/ for over an hour you (as the rumor goes) end up with some nasty thumbnails on your hd.

but if this does turn out to be as the thread title seems then hang them all i say.

Has to be something like this. Something's gone wrong in either what they're counting or what they reported or the numbers they published. PURCHASED? Really? Smells very fishy to me.

Have you read the IG report?

Moreover, whatever the precise numbers, most disturbing is the fact that the investigation stalled for a considerable time and no one appears to have been held accountable.

I keep getting a timed out message. It won't load for me at all.

Could be that I am coming from a Canadian IP and it won't allow foreign IP's to access that particular site. I've come across other .mil and .gov sites that were like that in the past.

If this has stalled again it is most likely because it goes all the way up to the top of the pentagon. I find it hard to believe that such a culture would go unnoticed without the support of the generals and other top officials. With the pentagon also hiding a lot of secrets in regards to 9/11, things like this child pornography can also be used for blackmail. While the military is corrupt the rest of society does not have much of a chance. The effect is similar to Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome for a nation as it can no longer properly defend itself.

That sort of thing isnt something that is talked about around the watercooler, so I have nothing to compare it to. What is the percentage of customers for this kind of material among the general population and does that indicate the percentage of people interested in that material is far bigger within the pentagon or far smaller?

what else are they gonna do all day? Sitting around filming bin laden videos, funneling trillions into Rummsfeld's bank account, there's a lot of hours in the day.

I seem to recall seeing somewhere that the number was actually much higher ...
... I think maybe ... over 9000?

Is the percentage of employees and exemployees seeking child pornografy unusually high? Id like to think that is an extremly rare fetish.

As repulsive as that is, I don't see how it matters. As long as the personnel are competent, it's not like them purchasing child pornography is a matter of national security. It's irrelevant as to whether or not they work at the Pentagon.

This story has died out without any updates as to the results of the Pentagons investigation. I have reached out to multiple people and have heard nothing from them. I looked at the website of the Senator who was leading the charge to find out what exactly was going on but oddly his website had no mention of his investigation into the matter even though articles went back multiple years.

I'm in touch with the original author who wrote the original article and a follow up piece and you can see the updated information here: *snip*

Thanks for the update, in a way it is not surprising as the case got shelved the first time. When it is your job to kill people and with most of these ongoing wars based more on economic that social grounds it is only natural to find a depraved and twisted culture behind it. When reviewing some of the mind control programs in operation, child porn is a common aspect used to break the child mentally as well as provide leverage over the perpetrators. With a long history of such things, some cultures even consider these practices normal and acceptable.

The diversity expressed in human nature does have a lot of problems. With the cold, hard and aggressive nature needed to work up the chain of command it is not setting a good example for the rest of us.
