Bush playing his favorite game...

news.yahoo.com
WASHINGTON - The White House is trying to put at least an arm's length between President Bush (news - web sites) and indicted Enron executive Kenneth Lay, a campaign benefactor Bush nicknamed "Kenny Boy" when the two were up-and-comers in Texas.

Lay's relationship with the Bush family dates from at least 1990 when he was co-chairman of former President Bush's economic summit for industrialized nations, which was held in Houston. Lay also was co-chairman of the host committee for the Republican National Convention when it was held in Houston in 1992.

The Center for Public Integrity, a Washington-based nonprofit group, said the Lays had given $139,500 to George W. Bush's political campaigns over the years.

Why do I doubt that these connections are much stronger than they make us believe...and now Lay pleads not guilty....hmmm

Simply put, if there were as many ties between Saddam and Bin Laden the "Iraq connection" arguement would be a "slam dunk".

But I think even Bush fans readily admit (but are willing to ignore) the evil that supports the RNC.

In that regard, Ken Lay is small potatos. Just look at the Oil, Defense or healthcare industries. It's scandalous.

But nobody cares. People are willing to spend 10 times their "tax refund" on Healthcare (up 49% since Bush took office) for the window dressing of that little refund. They simply do not get it, and do not care.

The middle class has been masterfully manipulated into thinking their money goes to "welfare queens" and not big business. And the facts be damned. "Hate" doesn't care for facts.

These are the oh-so "typical American" (pardon the phrase) that sit at home and listen to the nightly news and question nothing that they hear...pumped up and excited to go to the polls and flush another presidential election down the toilet, not that there's any other fish in the water...

Most Americans can agree to the travesties of Enron's Kenneth Lay b/c the media lambasted him from day one, and rightly so, but when the media makes their 22 second report of the day on these connections, shortly after the hour long discussion on how the war in Iraq was and is a success (HA!), it looks trivial and most people probablly forget in during the commerical breaks....sad...
