I recently came across an interesting entry on Amazon.co.uk - A book, due out on February 10, called "The End of Secrecy: The Rise and Fall of Wikileaks" authored by The Guardian.

As of today, the link to the book has been pulled from the site, giving the message "We're sorry. The Web address you entered is not a functioning page on our site." (Original Site)

The cached Google result is still available though - Cached Site

With the accompanying (and only) comment:

"Fall? What Fall? Strange that the Guardian will be publishing a book on the Rise and FALL of Wikileaks. Do they have some information that the rest of us don't? or are they going to be instrumental in bringing down the "Peoples Champion" due to some undisclosed pressure from some undisclosed source.?? There is no unbiased journalism!!"

Does the MSM already know about the demise of Wikileaks? Only when the book is released in a month will we know for sure. This is definitely something to keep an eye on.

Thats just a money grab cash in . Whistleblowing is a good business now because of all the exposure wikileaks got . Now who ever has the documents can make there own wikileaks. Wiki Leaks im sure you will see differnt people doing the same thing and upgrading to stealth proxies , re-routers , hidden ip , changed ip mirror sites etc to get the data out . Wiki Leaks has a good engine , but you will see more replace it . This is only the rise , only thing faling is the haters creadibility every time they try and link wiki leaks to cia mossad the vatician disinfo alein cockroaches

...Just like the entire Wikileaks site? Assange himself struck up a book deal (due out in April) Source, valued at $1.5 million, and Wikileaks is netting several million dollars in both private (read: opaque) and public donations.

And it's interesting how the Wikileaks staff is now getting a salary (with Assange netting two-thirds of the income)? Source

People wary of Wikileaks (such as myself) do have some very valid arguments for not trusting Wikileaks' motivations. Sure, we seem like "conspiracy theorist nutjobs" if you phrase our arguments as you have. Read some of my other posts that don't rely on hearsay and sensationalism to justify mistrust in Wikileaks.

The point is, Wikileaks is in close cahoots with the MSM, and the Guardian is releasing a book that claims "the fall" of Wikileaks... Which was pulled from the site just recently.

are you forgetting TPTB's blatant attempts at strangling Wikileaks financially
its called creative financing.

And it's interesting how the Wikileaks staff is now getting a salary (with Assange netting two-thirds of the income)?

especially as those of us who don't have our heads buried in the sand or our own butt-holes have noticed, and pointed out that MSM is filtering the stuff.

that was the whole point of sharing with the MSM and they fell for it and are now exposed.

oh sure wikileaks is now trying to work within the system.

no buddy, trying to make Assange out as being in it for the money, puhleeeassse
it's been tried before. FAIL

CBS? a reliable source?

suuure... the all seeing eye logo just radiates trustworthiness and sincerity.

Wikileaks is censoring its own cables, post-release - and not just names to "protect" identities - they censor full paragraphs that show some negative attitudes of US and its allies, as well as paragraphs denouncing the imperialist war in Iraq, Afghanistan, and the blatant smear campaigns against Iran and North Korea. Get your head out of the sand, or wherever it may be

The attempts to cut off funding have obviously not worked at all, considering those involved in Wikileaks are quickly becoming rich. "Creative financing"? More like milking media-whoring.

Also, don't like CBS? Google "wikileaks salary" and choose which source you find most reliable.

come to mind
please explain
how is it that your link/website
became final custodian of the original documents
and final arbiter of who is censoring what?

I consider Cryptome to be a very good source but the impression i get RE this rivalry between Cryptome and Wikileaks more like a clash between egos over differences in style
you know, Cryptome been around for a while quietly putting out stuff
but its relatively unknown compared to the new upstarts
dont want to bring up sour grapes...

on the other hand
Cryptome will be around for a while quietly putting out stuff
long after wikileaks has been made to take a dirt map

and please don't forget that there are fake versions of all those torrents
or that all these discrepancies maybe actually be proof of interpolations

am tired will look at privetbank tommorow but sounds like the same as cryptome

Common Privet Ligustrum Vulgare This Privet is a very versatile plant. It has been used to make walls, tall barriers, sound barriers, you can let it grow to 15 ft. or trim it any way you want, make arches, low to the ground fences, make it thick, thin and anything in between.

I don't really understand all of your post, but the privetbank site that posts the cable differences compares the packages of cables released straight from wikileaks.ch, via Wikileaks' official torrent magnet links. It was Cryptome that brought this site to my attention, but the site is not in any way affiliated with Cryptome or John Young. Mr. Young has stated himself that leak sites, including his Cryptome, operate according to certain agendas. Thing is, Cryptome's purpose is much less flaky than Wikileaks' funding campaign based on illegitimate media hype, its lack of transparency, questionable self-censorship, deep connections to the MSM, biased leaks, its obvious grab for a monopoly over the leak scene, the use of Wikileaks as the launching point for a fear campaign by those pushing censorship policies, multi-million dollar information technology contracts, the locking down of institutions to protect bureaucracies from future leaks, etc. etc. etc.

I recommend you download the cablediff package on the privetbank site, and sift through the changes yourself. Yes, some differences are simply name redactions or readability edits. But take a peek at the cables that have been changed the most and read over what has been redacted, it may change your mind.

Anyways, we'll see how it pans out when this book is released in a month or so, and any events up until then...
