If the Popular Vote was won by a Write-In Nobody... what would you and THEY do??

I know this is a fantastical theoretical situation I am postulating out there, but I am just curious...

The current prospectus for 2012 presidential election looks like crap, and I really mean it.
Even with "alternative" choices, I believe it still smacks of "establishment", really...

What if somehow, the drones (i.e. us) could get together via internet, phones, etc...), and pick a name.
Some generic name.
And everyone write that name down as their choice for President.
And I mean as many possible people write that exact name down.
And it wins the popular vote of every single state..

What would happen?

I realize that the "electoral college" is who really "elects" the president.
However, wouldn't that send a pretty important damn message to the powers that
the population is fed the -f- up with their tired, petty, crap.

Their tired, petty, candidates.
Their tired, petty campaigns.
Their tired, petty lobbyists.
Their tired billion dollar lying campaigns.

People would have to operate independent of selfish interest,
but isn't it time that we do that, for our own sakes???

Imagine the shock.

I will probably get flamed to hell and back for my
ideological, "never would work" idea, but I would relish
the pandemonium this would cause.

I think that the electoral college would
consult and just pick someone...

But the outcry would be amazing...

They'd pick the 2nd highest and ignore the popular demand.. as always.

As much as I hate to contemplate it, I did just that: I forced myself to remember, that it is known before the voting which side 'won' the election, more so than in a fixed fight, because in a boxing match, if the wrong guy wins, he's dead. In an election, the wrong guy just does not win.

It is known in advance who will be POTUS. Even a vote count is unnecessary; it's just a way to convince us that our vote counted.

Remember Ron Paul ?
If an unknown was to even to
challenge TPTB they will simply
be Ignored. And if that will not work
they will ban them from the debates.
After that ,who knows ? Assassination ?
TPTB will never let it happen, Period.

It seems a lack of knowledge pertaining to the Electoral College still is evident among the People.

This is why all the other elections, that people blow off because they are not the 'Super Bowl' of elections matter. Electors are elected at the State level, a level of politics that the People just blow off and ignore as being insignificant.

If you want to make real changes, we have to engage in not only National politics but also local and state levels. Alas....I fear no one really cares because it doesn't make it onto the boob tube.

I'm not stating that an unknown should even enter the scene.
I am just stating that an unknown should be written on the ballot.

You go ahead and start working on that.

Meanwhile, I'm gonna step out to the courthouse and legally change my name to nobody.

Well, it was Nobody in the title so that's what I'm gonna do, everyone when you write in Nobody use a capital N as I don't want any confusion.

I promise disclosure, will that get the vote
