i can understand people being worried about this, but there have been more than likely less deaths than what humans consume on a daily basis, why does it matter what caused it, does it make a difference?
why is it only now people are bothered about how many birds and fish have died? if these animals ended up on plates who would be bothered, would we even be aware they were missing?
if it goes on then worry, but if these events are just random events over a short period then i doubt it will make much difference, it will just mean less for us.

You have lied several times by trying to say me and others are saying things that we are not or are completely delusional.

Forget it. I give up.
This is why I've come to hate ATS. People are so determined to cling to their conspiracies that they ignore everything that contradicts them. They make ridiculous demands for evidence and yet refuse to believe it when it is presented to them. They put words in others peoples' mouths and make straw man arguments when they don't actually have anything to support their own side of the argument?
Remember the pole shift (due to Planet X) that didn't happen in 2003? Remember the bird flu pandemic that didn't happen a few years ago? Remember the mandatory vaccinations that didn't happen last year? Remember how the LHC didn't destroy the Earth once it got turned on? Remember all the concern over earthquakes in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 etc. etc. and how they never turned out to be anything out of the ordinary? Have you noticed how ATS continues to proclaim gloom and doom and yet NOTHING has come of it?
THAT is what this bird nonsense is. It's ATS sensationalizing everything it can get its paranoid little hands on. I'm not saying everyone does this, but an alarmingly large number of people will believing anything that pops up on here. I hope people look back on this in a few months and realize how stupid it was to make a big deal out of this.
I do think it's finally time for me to quit this lunacy. See you, ATS. I'm glad to be rid of you.

I understand you frustrations completely. Sometimes I wish there was a website like ATS without all the crazies on it that twist everything around, and don't even know how to read, take your words and meaning out of context, constantly try to find flaws in what you say and when they don't find them they create loopy logic that only appears to make you sound wrong. They have selective reading, and ignore facts, and ask the same stupid questions without using any logic or reason. It makes me want to rip my hair out... some of these people are just.... gone. It's helpless.
Just let them panic and tremble in fear like they want. Let the media control their thoughts not by what is reported, but by how they respond to what is reported. Let them continue on their path to self destruction caused by their fear, paranoia, and their constant struggle to understand what is happening around them, never reaching a clear answer. They want it, let them have it.

On average, 163 such events are reported to the federal government each year, according to USGS records. And there have been much larger die-offs than the 3,000 blackbirds in Arkansas. Twice in the summer of 1996, more than 100,000 ducks died of botulism in Canada.

*sigh*
Nobody said anything about birds being hit by fireworks. The fireworks went off near a roost of birds. The birds got scared and started flying around. They can't see well at night, so they hit buildings, utility poles, etc and died from the blunt trauma.
It's not hard to understand.

do you know what massive trauma means ??
Trauma: Any injury, whether physically or emotionally inflicted. "Trauma" has both a medical and a psychiatric definition. Medically, "trauma" refers to a serious or critical bodily injury, wound, or shock. This definition is often associated with trauma medicine practiced in emergency rooms and represents a popular view of the term. In psychiatry, "trauma" has assumed a different meaning and refers to an experience that is emotionally painful, distressful, or shocking, which often results in lasting mental and physical effects.
What causes internal bleeding?
Bleeding most often occurs due to injury, and depending upon the circumstances, the amount of force required to cause bleeding can be quite variable.
Blunt trauma
Most people understand that falling from a height or being involved in a car accident can inflict great force and trauma upon the body. If blunt force is involved, the outside of the body may not necessarily be damaged, but enough compression may occur to internal organs to cause injury and bleeding.
* Imagine a football player being speared by a helmet to the abdomen. The spleen or liver may be compressed by the force and cause bleeding inside the organ. If the hit is hard enough, the capsule or lining of the organ can be torn, and the bleeding can spill into the peritoneum (the space in the abdominal cavity that contains abdominal organs such as the intestines, liver, and spleen).
* If the injury occurs in the area of the back or flank, where the kidney is located, retroperitoneal bleeding (retro=behind; behind the abdominal cavity) may occur.
* The same mechanism causes bleeding due to crush injuries. For example, when a weight falls on a foot, the weight doesn't give, nor does the ground. The force needs to be absorbed by either the bone or the muscles of the foot. This can cause the bone to break and/or the muscle fibers to tear and bleed.
* Other structures are compressible and may cause internal bleeding. For example, the eye can be compressed in the orbit when it is hit by a fist or a ball. The globe deforms and springs back to its original shape. Intraorbital hemorrhage may occur.
