Just because he did not get caught in the act, does not mean he is innocent. But this is really helpful for the readers, because its what liberals do. People don't often call for the murder of national heroes, mothers, fathers, or everyday heroes. That's kind of the key point you're missing there. I'd defend their right to not be murdered just as readily, if it ever came up.
