Earlier today Europe, Asia, and Africa got to see a nice partial solar eclipse as the Moon passed in front of the Sun, blocking as much as 85% of the solar surface. The extraordinarily talented astrophotographer Thierry Legault traveled from his native France to the Sultanate of Oman to take pictures of the eclipse.








What an amazing picture! The photographer, Thierry Legault had just a fraction of a second to snap the photo to capture the ISS streaking in front of the Sun for just a brief moment while the moon took a bite during the solar eclipse.

At first glance, the ISS looks like a Tie fighter from Star Wars....


We live in amazing times....

Very cool indeed. It is amazing how fast the ISS actually travels. I saw it pass overhead a couple of years ago.
