I am well aware of the lefts opinion of Glenn Beck. I challenge them to listen to tonights main course:
"e4" start around 6minutes in ( but the intro is worth while...)
.
basically he unplugs the famous silent red phone says he's done looking/waiting for govt for solutions: . we need to quit bitchin' and use education;personal empowerment and entrepreneurship to get America back on top.
help each other and change our selves.
Just an evil, racist buffoon leading the stupid to the trough I guess...

Glenn Beck is right on a lot of things, but(and this is a huge but) he always spins the truth to make it appear as if the democrats are evil. It goes like this, he says there's a conspiracy and they are trying to make you slaves. It's only the democrats doing this. Republicans are your best friends. They want what's best for you. Democrats are trying to take over the world.
The democrats are evil, but not any more so than republicans.

No he really doesn't. There are tons of republicans that get his goat. Like the rest of us, he just wants to see some honor from our "leaders".

I think the e4 idea is a great outline for the personal changes that need to be made in preparation for what's coming our way...in the form of a complete economic collapse IMO, we'll be lucky if we don't wind up post civil-war era life styles again...

Glenn Beck has already made his 50 million.
He needs to just come out and tell it like it is !
Skirting around the issues is not solving anything.
It just causes more confusion and it is dishonest
quite frankly. Whats more important Glenn ?
Left/right is so old now.Only the people who
are too far gone to see it for what it is listen to
that tripe .C'mon Glenn, it's time to come clean,
Be the Patriot you claim to be.

Peace.

He did just that in this very episode...

"15 years ago I was broke, today I'm pretty well off".

The point is, he's not ashamed of making money. NO ONE should be ashamed of making money.

But you have to watch the show to get what Media Matters won't show.

He even comes uncomfortably close to a few "obamisms" but instead of the collective "yes we can" he says."Yes I can".

Honestly from the radical leftist history of alot of the administrations czars and advisers; Cloward and Piven even photographed circulating in the background of the Clinton administration.(currently Cass Sunstein et al ) We have every right to be apprehensive of Dems running footloose in the halls of power,.

IAM NOT SAYING REPUBS ARE "GOOD"!( its a stupid diversion to get into back and forth).Herr Boosh ruined that one for me but at least there isn't years of outright open contempt for our nation! evidenced by this "bunch"

Be very careful what you choose to believe from people like Beck. He may speak about things that ring true, but they are full of half-truths and distortions.

His motivation is money, only money. Unless of course he is providing a service for the disinfo community.

If it wasn't about the money, he would concentrate on his faith, if his faith was as important as he claims.

If it wasn't about money, he would concentrate more on his family, if his family was as important as he claims.

If it wasn't about money, he would not be on radio and TV claiming everyone is a Nazi-commie and he would concentrate on what he claims is more important in life.

Beck may say things that appeal to mass amounts of people, but what are his motivations? Money......

Do you expect the man to put in all this time researching for the shows he hosts without being paid?

I sure wouldn't...My guess is, neither would you.

I look forward to his new E4 segments. He is one of the few honest people left in the media. His claims about crooks and decievers on both sides of the aisle couldn't be more true.

I'll stay tuned. Love him or hate him, he keeps the issues alive and front page.

Let me state for the record, and for the sake of this discussion, that I am a conservative.

Glenn Beck does not do his own research. He has stated many times that he has an entire crew that does it for him. He is a celebrity, well -spoken and professional, that provides entertainment value for those who search for political similarity in their TV and radio shows. Just like Sean Hannity.

Glenn Beck is making great speeches to whip the masses into a "patriotic frenzy" over America and its potential. In doing so, he solidifies the cash-flow that surrounds his media company and its corporate sponsors. Have you bought any gold.....while you relax on your Sleep Number Bed?

This is just another gimmick.

We should understand we are pelted with media to motivate and manipulate" buy the new chevy crap box lt1.Or on topic "buy my book"!"
but there can be a worthwhile message in all the media.
I think this approach glenn mentions is motivating we can change ourselves. not anybody else. Change begins in the individual perhaps that's enough to start the reaction .

Right, but he's also said how much time he has personally spent reading...

Is reading and assimilating the information not research now? The good thing about making money(For the folks who keep harping on that) is that you can hire a team of researchers so you can get that work done faster.

"The power of the individual" is a mantra GB has talked about for a long time. It is nothing new. It is a good message and it is absolutely true, but once again I have to question his motives.

This seems to be nothing more than a lead-up to his next high profile march on the mall or book deal as you pointed out.

Until Beck hammers the military-industrial complex as hard as he does the progressive movement, I'm inclined to agree with you. He's hinted at the inefficacy and fiscal irresponsibility of an imperialist military before, but never flat out called for an end to it, as far as I know. I think he knows this would alienate the "conservatives" that make up so much of his customer base, and if he did advocate it they wouldn't buy his books anymore.

I agree with a lot of what he says, but unfortunately I don't think very much of it is genuine.

If Mr. Beck is genuinely concerned about America, why doesn't he just run for office? I'm thinking the pay cut wouldn't bode too well for him but he is already loaded. He sure talks the talk but personally I think he spent too much time staring into the sun.

I'm sure he could get elected and the mechanisms are already in place to effect the positive change he preaches.
It seems he'd just rather rile the mental midget minions.

You are correct, he has stated that he reads ALOT. More than I can claim to have read. The difference is what he chooses to talk about on his show. I can find 1000's of things that are more important to the state of America than the Obama Healthcare bill or how George Soros (who happens to be good friends with his boss Rupert Murdoch) is a socialist. If that is the best he can do then he needs to fire his research team, hire some people who really know how to read whats important, and talk about that on his show.

Perhaps you said it better than I. Thanks!

Well see here is the crux of things isn't it.

If he did run, what would be your mantra? That he is only doing it for power.

To inform is the purpose of a TRUE journalist. One that tells you to go out and do your own research, gives you the source material that they are getting their information from and breaks it down and shows their work. That is a journalist.

On the other side of the coin you have the propagandists. They attack ideas, not with anything of their own, just for the attack. Next you have them telling you what to think without any source material and NEVER mentioning to look into it yourself.

I think there is an absolute cognitive dissonance when it comes to sources of information.

Take for example, one of my latest threads. I brought up the fact that the American Hospital Association is being set up as the corporate crony of the health care bill, by not allowing anyone else to build any hospitals. What was the response? A source from the AHA saying that others are driving up costs.

Talk about INSANITY!

Love how he starts off all "I don't wanna focus on the past...but rather look into the future" right before he starts his usual "historic context / founding fathers" stuff.

So historical context and the founding fathers are irrelevant?

That's exactly what's under attack in this country...

You have to know history in order to avoid making mistakes in the future.

You'll just pick at anything...Geez
