They had an earthquake in Newcastle Australia back in the late 80's. It was random, unexpected and these happen from time to time like Christchruch NZ which has revealed a previously unknown fault. These things have been happening for melenia and the seem more frequent because we are better at recording them.

Live in the midwestern region of the U.S., Indiana to be exact and we just got hit with a 3.8 which is a bit unusual. Especially seeing that it cracked the foundation of indianapolis businesses. I am curious to wht is going on. SF for getting caught with your pants down. lol

A 3.7 is so small who even noticed it? That size quake feels like a truck rumbling by.

Thats normal, there are hundreds of tiny tremors every week under the UK, they rarely go over 2 -3, two 3.6's in two weeks is the unusual part.

I would recommend reading the following, as I feel some people may not realise how the Richter scale works. 4.0 is not half as powerful as an 8.0 for instance.

en.wikipedia.org...

The Richter magnitudes are based on a logarithmic scale (base 10). What this means is that for each whole number you go up on the Richter scale, the amplitude of the ground motion recorded by a seismograph goes up ten times. Using this scale, a magnitude 5 earthquake would result in ten times the level of ground shaking as a magnitude 4 earthquake (and 32 times as much energy would be released). To give you an idea how these numbers can add up, think of it in terms of the energy released by explosives: a magnitude 1 seismic wave releases as much energy as blowing up 6 ounces of TNT. A magnitude 8 earthquake releases as much energy as detonating 6 million tons of TNT. Pretty impressive, huh? Fortunately, most of the earthquakes that occur each year are magnitude 2.5 or less, too small to be felt by most people.

I was trying to explain that to people at work today, talk about frustrating, the only guy that really got it had to have it explained like warp drive from star trek
