Let's see, we have a crumbling infrastructure, people becoming homeless and jobless at breakneck paces, and the ones who still ARE working being one paycheck away from the above scenario, and yet no worries whatsoever for our military industrial complex and war profiteering mega-corps and gov co-conspirators! Let's just toss around some more tax-payer dollars into our disastrous foreign policy charades!

Must be nice to just be able to have endless supplies of tax-payer capital at ones disposal to just throw into projects like this. How many years has this charade been going on for now?

Well, people have to realize what nation building means.

Do you think the tactic is to just go over there and kick butt?

Oh no, the tactic is to blow everything up and than rebuild it. A waterpark here, a market there.

Where does everyone think all that money is going? To businesses aligned with those in government.

It is not like it is a secret or something.

edit to add-what did everyone think Obama meant when he said redistribution of wealth. Someone has to give the taliban money to be able to fight. Where did all the billions go that the government paid the taliban. To build some mosques or sumthin?

Not just the US doing that. The UK hasn't cut it's "aid" budget despite the cuts to most other departments. And continues to send large amounts of "aid" to countries like Pakistan who in return not only export Jihadist's around the world, but use a significant amounts of this "aid" to fund/arm and train the Taliban and their friends.

You hit the nail on the head. It's like preaching to little children who have no clue as to what you are talking about, same goes with the people of our country that can have the evidence thrown right in their faces with what goes on with their money that should be going towards fixing all the problems within our own country. Yup, you're right, nothing to see here.

We, the people of the United States, aren't getting anything out of these other countries. The gasoline prices keep going up,up and away! Iraq has all of this "oil", why are we not getting any of it. All of our money is going into Dubai to make it a tourist destination when the oil runs out. That is a crock of SH*t. They are sitting back laughing at us going into poverty because it is a necessity and we need oil.
I am very disgruntled over this crap and not one of the US legislature will step in and say enough is enough!

Except this happened under Bush. Apparently when Bush set out on "nation-biulding" he wasn't kidding. Enjoy your useless water park, Iraq, courtesy of American tax payers.

And they still havent learned.. To be able to successfuly build a nation they must first understand the customs and culture of the people before you can win their hearts and minds.. U.S still hasnt learned that lesson as its failed both at home and abroad to understand the people.. The waterpark is a glaring example of the u.s failure to understand.. But the opening was a nice show for the media so in u.s eyes it was a success...

How lovely..a foreign nation, former enemy under Bush, get all this special treatment, and a $1 million water park, while we, OUR money, is taken away form us. Eisenhower warned us of this in the late 50's*

Well, I was not only referring to just the waterpark, I was referring to the nation building component. Obama is Bush on steroids. They are and were purposefully leading us down this destruction of our country for decades. Think of how much money flows into other countries economies through all the bases around the world. Now think how that would help with jobs, funds etc if all those bases were here.
Imagine say an influx of about 200 Billion every year to our economy that is now flowing into other countries by OUR TAX DOLLARS.

By the way, if you think Obama has not authorized billions in bribe money to the taliban, I will get you proof if you need it. There is PLENTY of that.

Judging by Kennylee's thread concerning the 70 new "justice" centers in KY, not all of that endless supply of taxpayer dollars is being funneled overseas.
Although not as fun as a waterpark, lots of American citizens will have the opportunity to appreciate these state of the art centers.
Thankfully, some money is trickling down to those at the local level who are loyal to the cause.
At least those fighting the "War on Drugs" here on the homefront will have the proper infrastucture needed for a modern police state. Maybe it will profitable enough so that they each might have a pool at home.
