What happened on Sep 12, 2009? Did you know that between 1-2 million people gathered in Washington?

I was listening to a Jim Marrs interview dealing with his Trillion Dollar Conspiracy. He mentioned a march in Washington protesting Obamacare among other things. Why wasn't this big news?

The media downplayed it, and/or barely reported it. ABCnews.com reported 60-70 thousand people. Look at the links, I see a flood of people. It's an amazing amount of people we weren't supposed to know about.

Well, if you haven't heard about it before, now you have. Tell your friends.

It really moved me to see that many people assemble to protest, at the same time it also upset me that the mainstream media downplayed it so badly. The media wanted this censured.

America is not dead folks! It still lives in our hearts, and the hearts of millions. I was thinking about that many people. They could have just walked in and took over the government.

And this doesn't represent the millions who don't agree with Obamacare, etc. that weren't there. It also doesn't show the true number, because I'm sure there were some who couldn't get there for whatever reasons.

whhops, I guess the cat's outta the bag now. Good work pulling this up. Heard nothing about it, just some mumbling on the internet, sort of like the Joseph Moshe conspiracy. The media only tell us what is in our best interest. They know best.

Heck, I didn't know about it either. Like I said, this should have been all over the news.

I guess it was either not reported much, or downplayed to a relatively small march.

Some of the video out there, it's like a sea of people. You know that was a parking nightmare. lol

60 - 70 thousand people already look like a huge flood of people. Between 1 and 2 million is a vast difference and sounds like hyperbole if that is as near as they can make an estimate.

The people seem to have had good reason to be marching over the healtcare issue. Probably the numbers were so huge because what was finally passed was the worst for both sides of the issue. Very different from what was first proposed, after congress on both sides of the aisle got through with it only the big-money interests made any gains from it. All I know for sure is that my insurance premiums made the largest jump this year than I have ever seen before. It doesn't seem that was the original idea.

US healthcare system needs an overhaul but the ingrained interests won't let anything happen that doesn't further feather their own nests. The American people be damned

Good find. I was also unaware of how many people were truly gathered. It's funny how the MSM works because I'm sure most people knew there were about 2 million people for the inauguration ceremony. Yet something that goes against policy is unheard of. I guess I can't say I'm surprised, but it's good to know that there are people out there willing to speak up. The only way we can succeed is with numbers. There are only so many people they can taser and arrest!

This link gives an awesome overhead view of the people. This is why we continue to wake people up. We aren't all asleep, and this shows it.

Nice video showing some of the protesters, and signs. Looks like some of these people were having a ball!

www.youtube.com...

Some estimates say about 2.5 million, but there are different estimates. But, one thing was for sure, that's a heck of a lot of people.

You mean they were protesting something that they don't understand because Rush, Hannity and Beck told them to?

I don't get it. Why don't Americans want a health care system that doesn't nickel and dime them to death? Obama's plan has its' flaws but I'm not buying the "death panels" bull# that I see spewed all over the fright-wingsphere.

I don't listen to Rush or any of those guys. I am not Republican or Democrat, but I know something isn't right about what is happening in our country and our world these days. Forced health insurance in a free country? Come again? The health care system is broken fundamentally, that needs to be fixed first and foremost. You can't just force insurance on everyone and say, "it's fixed!"

This crap started before Obama. And, I just hope people understand that part. It's not as simple as just putting in Republicans. You need to put people in the power that care, and aren't going to take a dump on our constitution. And the Feds need their slimy rumps thrown in jail.

I am not seeing a million people protest in the three vids, but I am certainly seeing organized peaceful protest. Regardless of numbers, these are people out to make their voices heard. Even if I do not share all their views, good for them on trying to do something!

More on the numbers.

www.huffingtonpost.com...

From the below link we get some quotes:

www.dailymail.co.uk...

"Marilyn in Oregon. Were you there? I was. The estimate is accurate. The West lawn of the capital was so crowed it was difficult to move around. The crowd surrounded the reflecting pool and filled Pennsylvania Avenue for half a mile. That was at three in the afternoon when things were winding down. People from all walks of life attended. People are angry about these criminals spending our future and taking our liberty. You will see patriots take back our country. You need to stop believing MSNBC, CNN and other mainstream media. If you don't start seeking your news through alternative sources, you will remain ignorant.
- Gator, Washington DC, 26/9/2009 18:13"

"My husband and I drove to Washington on our own dime/time and we joined 1.7 million ("unofficial" crowd size according to park police) concerned Americans who feel that our country's constitutional freedoms are being taken away due to the govt. takeover of banks, auto dealerships, businesses, etc. and the out-of-control spending. We don't want govt. by extremist cazrs and we don't want govt. run health care pushed on us! This is America and the silent citizens are silent no more....we are awake and we are marching! We have been igored by liberal politicians who are attempting to change this country into a socialistic, entitlement-based citizenry...we have been either ignored or ridiculed by the mainstream media, and we have been called racists and uninformed by some....we are none of these. We are simply, but strongly, the modern-day warriors to save this free land that we love. We are Americans!

""It is the sense of Congress that the funds created by this Act be reserved for Social Security""....

If you read the ""healthcare"" bill that Barrack and Congress passed you would have found that sentence in it.

Since they've had time to read it, they've since pulled that sentence out. Can't have this Generation knowing they are being enslaved with the new Federal Tax to fund Social Security for the Baby Boomers.

Problem is.....other countries and hundreds of thousands of Americans downloaded the Bill right after they passed it...and read it. They didn't fool anyone.

I love the way Americans will take to the streets. Not for things like bailing out banks or illegal wars, but for the horror of universal health care meant to help those less well off in society. Sad to see the level of false class conscience that exists in America today.

I watched the video, but how do you know it was 1-2 million people there? Did you or someone else go around and count every single person? If so, who counted & proof it was that many!

To put that in perspective I even question the 60-70 thousand by the msm. How does anybody know? There is just to many people scattered everywhere to count so until there is proof the estimates by the MSM & the OP have to be held with contempt! I guess it will never be known how many actually attended!

What they are protesting was something that has been ruled against the constitution. Government can not mandate you buy goods or services.

@ the OP: Great link. thanks!

The US Park Service has a means of estimating crowd size fairly accurately by looking at the crowd from aircraft.
They keep very close tabs on us 'trouble-makers' when we go to Washington.
