A swiss company using massive ion generators is able to form clouds and cause rainfall in the desert where it wouldn't happen "naturally".

The thing that came to mind for me is that since they are not causing extra moisture to build up in the atmosphere then cause the rain from that, they are just merely "steeling" the rain and moisture from somewhere else down the line.

Still though pretty great technology hope it is combined with other tech to create a net gain of rain and moisture and not just cause early downpours at the expense of somewhere a few hundred miles away.

Its not new technology but it does have a very interesting history. Wilhelm Reich invented the Cloudbuster, among many other things, in the 1950's and the US government went out of their way to silence him and his work. They eventually through him in jail where a short time later he mysteriously died of an apparent heart attack however no autopsy was ever done.

His story and his work is now very relevant to many current 'conspiracies' that are regular topics of discussion. The government supposedly destroyed all his research in what is described as one of the biggest acts of censorship in US history.
