In light of the celebratory-skyward items associated with New Years eve, I realize these can be nothing but balloons, kites or lanterns however, it's quite interesting that all three videos captured red objects though.

New Years Eve 2011 UFO Sighting Laguna Philippines

While watching the fireworks on New Year's Eve at our house in Laguna Philippines, a strange orange ball in the sky caught our attention. We thought it was a Chinese lantern at first, but it's strange movements refute this idea. The exact shape of the object cannot be determined, it was globe/ball shaped with an iridescent orange glow. It was flying vertically and slowly, which means this cannot be a plane.

Mt. View Hawaii New Years Eve 2011.

UFO or strange slow lights going across the night sky. It was dark so all you could see was the lights... Wow. Epic sighting. This is my first Unidentified Flying Object. What a trip! It looked just red fiery ball in the sky but when i uploaded it on my video program it was blinking colors. it was really dark so all u can see is the light.

New Years Eve 2011 UFO Sighting Australia

Video-1
This is the first of a series of videos I shot with my new fujifilm camera! Although the images are not that great Im happy with the outcome.

At this point the UFO was dipping beyond a hill maybe 10km away, this was the first pass and the second and third passes were much closer!! These second and third videos will be posted after this one!!

Please forgive my ramblings as I was struggling with the autofocus, lens flare from the streetlights and just general inexperience filming the night sky (its not easy)!

Video-2
The second of the UFO videos from new years this one was closer but I was struggling to keep the camera steady...The third video is much clearer but again Im just happy to have finally posted my first UFO videos after seeing so many (over 100 now) !! Thanks everyone and stay tuned for more!

Video-3
The third and easily the best of the videos from new years eve 2011....I couldnt believe my luck!! I had just filmed a UFO make two passes to the east of newcastle and then this was coming straight over my . from north to south!!

If I can get a hold of a program to get rid of the shake there may be more of the pulsing that will show up but yeah, just happy to have got one on film!! Oh yeah, the other thing was that it gave me a good display as it faded out and I kind of dropped the ball at the end, I mean it was probably only about a kilometer or two above me and I got kind of excited and missed it fading out...I will do better next time!

man i see these things all the time over my house. they pulse different colors and zip around in all directions, just so hard to get to show up on my camera. They're totally real and I cannot wait until I find out what they actually are.

Are you serious? You see them 'all the time'? Where do you live? If I were you I'd invest in a camera and start snappin' some pictures then post them here. I know I'd be curious to see 'em

I just came across this bizarre looking Lockheed Hybrid Blimp craft. I don't know much about it like, is it illuminating...?.. but I do have to wonder if we're not seeing this baby once in a while.

I agree. I bet 70% of sightings are manmade crafts(military and civilian), 20% are lanterns, balloons etc and 10% are extraterrestrials.

10% is still a pretty high number seeing there's an estimation of 1000 world-wide UFO sightings daily.

well i believe many would find it interesting to see that i had also seen something very similar to this object i live in west pasco florida and at 12:18-12:23 am i saw a reddish/orange object moving from the eastern horizon to the western horizon out to the gulf of mexico there was no sound heard from this object and it moved way too fast to be anything i have ever seen before while still being too slow to be a meterorite falling to earth there was no trail on this object as well. as the object reached the 11 oclock position in the sky it began to become darker and darker as one would see when they are looking at a sattelite being lit up from the sun how could this be a sat? when the sun is high in the sky on the other side of the world as sunset is 6pm here and the sighting was 12:20 am makes me wonder what it was if it wasnt an aircraft or satelite

ive seen a ufo before on 2 occasions everytime i went near it it was above a house literally like 5 metres from roof it would dissapear if i went near and then it came back about 20 mins same spot stayed there for roughly 6 minutes my mum and my stepdad didnt belive me until they saw the last sighting havent seen nothing since 2008 but i know this area i live in is a hotspot for such activity
edit on 1-1-2011 by Sam1234567890 because: (no reason given it was glowing all different coulours like nothing bit like a rainbow and the speed it changed at on colours was just unreal no sound from the aircraft or anything.

Don't forget that New Year is a high season for chinese lanterns...
I used one once, and it realy looked like an UFO to me (but I have to add that the light was visible for less than 4 minutes, so those "orbs" who are on the same place for 30 minutes or more cannot be lanterns)...

UFO fleet !!!!!
No not really , Chinese lanterns .
Video example

Chinese lanterns are a common cause of false UFO sightings. The following video shot on 18th December 2008 in Halesowen is such an example. The sighting is said to have left residents stunned believing they were witnessing dozens of “UFOs“ moving slowly in the sky above Halesowen. Further invesigations revealed that these were actually 50-70chinese lanterns released by children celebrating carols which shone brightly in the sky for approximately 20 minutes, until their fuel ran out and flames extinguished.

Its an easy mistake to make , a mistake I made about five years ago when I thought we were being invaded by a fleet of around Twenty UFO's , It turned out they'd been released to celebrate a wedding at a local hotel .

Both my wife and I seen this same object over Sydney at approx 11:30 pm on new years eve. We were walking home from a party and noticed a large red object in the sky. I assumed it was planet mars however it was moving. It only hung around for 10 - 20 seconds and shot off...

This is located at skunkworks at Palmdale California. The photo that you see is only one third of what the final airship is to be. It will have three levels, holding one battalion, and when landed, all three levels cant downward, enabling the troops to all offload. First time I saw this I about fouled my cockpit!
As for the videos. SnF!
Has anyone noticed the increasing prevalence of UFO's?

How fast would you say it shot off?

Did you see it shoot off (another words, could you follow it with your eyes) or was it there one moment then gone in another?

Thank you for sharing

What is the purpose of that blimp (besides spying on us probably) do you know?

Thanks

I agree but at the same time, we shouldn't let our guard down and assume they're 'only lanterns' either (not saying that's what you said though....)

UFOs have been reported in groups/ fleets for a long time now. Way before this annoying Chinese Lantern/party balloon fad came around.
Just look down in Mexico. That country gets bombarded with fleets of UFOs quite often.

Absolutely right , if the object displays characteristics that don't fit with the lantern hypothesis then it must be something else , ET included .
But if the object is an orange ball that travels across the sky in practically a strait line then the lantern hypotheses would be the most likely explanation , more so on New Years eve

Interesting pic.. Though get malformed video link when try to watch the videos.. They must like cities / urban areas as never see any out here .. The blimp looks sharp would be nice if they made some for civilian travel as an alternative to airliners..

I'm not sure what these are. As far as UFO sightings increasing there are many explanations for this. The first is that more reports are coming in, instead of being dismissed. The internet and sharing of information allows more sightings to come forward. Those are the obvious and most practical explanation for the increase, and I'll probably catch some flak for this, but The Mayan calendar event may be a return of ET to our planet. This is my belief and the aliens that have been in the vicinity(under sea, in underground bases, on nearby planets, and in our solar system in general) are getting ready for the return. People often talk about planets lining up and eclipses, but those are truly mundane events that only effect our solar system. I believe our galaxy will line up with a distant galaxy. That being that the centers will align, allowing a wormhole to open between the 2 galaxies. I think this return will make for a significant change in our world for obvious reasons. This is my opinion. I also think that the closer we get to the equator the more sightings will be seen. Look at all the ancient civilizations that have huge structures across the globe. The majority of these are along the equator with some slight variance for geological reasons. Whoever helped with these constructions, preferred a warm climate. It makes sense that the Mayan calendar is a key in my reasoning, due to the extraordinary math and astronomy needed to incorporate such a calendar with the accuracy it has. Ok, in trouble of being way off topic. Sorry happens when talking about things i have a passion for, hope you understand.

Ok when I was watching the red ball it seemed to be travelling in a southbound direction. For the first part it seemed quite close so it was pretty large and bright. However as I was facing it from the west it appeared to change direction and travel away from me. It went from bright red object to fade away into the distance in maybe a second - 1.5 seconds.... It didn't have any flashing lights ( Typical of aircraft ) just the constant red/orange colour if that helps....
