If you re-read the first post you will see that Mecheng has apologized to the readers of the thread.

In my honest opinion..the OP should be banned in this case if he can't even explain himself to fellow members.
A total waste of people's time.

Saw the explantion...and still feel the joke was lost in his first post and his replies.

Noted. Didn't bother to check first post, again.

Maybe it is just me, and maybe it is that I am new here but I found the initial post somewhat humorous and explained his intent well. Is this site above satirical humor, I truly don't know please tell me. It is obvious that something BIG will happen somewhere today and I bet we can find a report already on this site of and even more bogus title than this one.

Please feel free to explain why so many people are irritated about the authors post, as I wish to conform to the purpose and contribute to future conversations without fearing retributions.

You might not realise that his initial post has been edited completely into an apology...he had said that he had "first hand" knowledge of something big happening and lots of people would die.

Even without the apology, I didn't have a huge problem with the OP's "original" post (before editing) -- although perhaps he could have worded it somewhat differently...
...it is completely true the people WILL get sick and people WILL die on 1-1-11. I believe that is the point he was trying to make. The same thing will happen on Jan 2, Jan. 3, Jan. 4, and so on.

He was trying to make fun of those vague predictions that says "something" will happen, and when there is the inevitable bus crash/flood/earthquake/mudslide/bomb blast/avalanche, those people who made the vague prediction then says "I was right!!"

Although, even though I agree with the OP's sentiment, I don't completely agree with the way he went about it.
