He may have fought in south-east Ireland with his uncle, Colonel Éamonn Ó Duibhir, against Cromwell. In 1651 Éamonn Ó Duibhir surrendered and, along with 4,500 of his men, joined the Spanish army. He was killed at Arras in August 1654.

However if I had to take my vote I would give it to Benjamin Disraeli, he was a champion of Traditionalist Conservatism and Nationalism. Two things I do admire.
