Immortal was making the argument of what you are stating only from a man's perspective I believe. Healthy domestic relationships are a two way street, or a two lane expressway would be a better analogy, and that is achieved through having clear boundaries communicated between the two parties with ALL responsibilities shared equally.

Why? Because any other arrangement is simply not worth it.

My wife and I both work.
We're equal partners in the relationship, and at home, we each have our own assigned "chores" to take care of.

Now, if one spouse is working, and the other isn't, it's perfectly understood that the other then is responsible to do the household chores as their contribution. (and if working 3 jobs, and she's working none, then yes, your rant is perfectly valid...and then only YOU can answer why you're putting up with it).
