Feds probe Christine O'Donnell's campaign spending

BALTIMORE – Federal authorities have opened a criminal investigation of Delaware Republican Christine O'Donnell to determine if the former Senate candidate broke the law by using campaign money to pay personal expenses, according to a person with knowledge of the investigation.

I've always said that karma is a boomerang.

I hope they do a thorough investigation of this dizzy broad and justive is served, whatever the outcome. With no real prior experience, dingbats like her and Sharon Angle pop on to the political stage with little knowledge or background of the law or political process and spew false rhetoric and slogans. Sure the Teabaggers like someone devoid of political ties and experience but this is what you end up with. In the parlance of Gertrude Stein, she is a thing about a thing but not the real thing. I honestly think she spent too much time staring into the sun myself.

Too bad she's not a witch. Perhaps she could have cast a spell and the investigators would come down with some mysterious rash or amnesia.

Karma IS a boomerang or in this case a broomerang.

Yeah, what do these non elitists think they can do? Run for office? I think they should be CRUCIFIED!

So, this is going to be the continued tactic?

I brought this up at the beginning of the 10 elections, that the Dems would latch onto the weakest candidate and attack them MERCILESSLY. Now, the only thing to do is to continue on with the tactic?

Wow KK, thanks for the heads up.

So let me guess, you think this is (sorry) a witch hunt?

By your own admission she is a "weak candidate" then I say the truth should be able to withstand great scrutiny.

I'm not in favor of politics becoming a playground for the wealthy or elites but I'd at least like to see a tad more legitimate background before someone runs for office.

She is innocent until proven guilty so my benefit odf doubt is extended as I said in OP regardless of outcome.

Oh.........whatever, they have been going after O'Donnel since she entered political viewpoint. Thanks to YOU, I saw the tactic and pointed it out.

Here is the problem KK, what is it that she supposedly did that was wrong? Spent some money while running? Did she spend some money on what? Oh, I see it is just inuendo just like it always is. Now, the superrich candidates can do anything, but the truly grassroots will be torn apart. Thanks, for pushing the corporatocracy that you "supposedly" abhor.

Have fun, ol joey had a name for folks, useful ......................something.

Specifically the charges allege she spent campaign contributions to subsidize living expenses. i.e. rent. That is a no-no.

Despite flying her freak flag high she is entitled to due process like every other citizen. I've made no claims regarding her guilt / innocence. It's political and it's breaking, just sharing.

What she is accused of is using campaign funds to pay for personal expenses. That is not allowed.

I thought you liked corporations, and think that everything should be privatized and completely deregulated?

So, it should be ok for candidates to take campaign funds and pay for their personal expenses?

You all know that most candidates actually pay themselves a salary and use campaign funds in a myriad of ways that are not different at all from what Odonell did.

I think it's ridiculous that the FBI and jazz are investigating this as a criminal activity. Sure have a commitee research it and give her a fine if she misused the funds, but there are far more criminal activities taking place in campaigns that her having used a few thousand dollars to pay her rent.

If a poor progressive used campaign funds in an inappropriate manner you wouldn't cut them a bit of slack and you know it.

Your agenda and ideology is quite clear. We need transparency and accountability from anyone seeking public office; no exceptions, rich poor or inbetween.

So, they choose to run O'Donnell through the fine tooth comb to see what gets caught. You could run the same comb through the campaigns of hundreds of candidates and find twice as much dirt. She has been singled out for a reason.

I think it should be standard practice that all canidates should have their finances reviewed after an election etc (at least state level & up) . Just as a matter of principle & to keep 'em honest. Matter of fact, winner first. They should be running to the review officer saying: Here I am... lets get it done and pronounce me a clean/ethical winner!

I don't care what side the fence they are on. If they are bad-they need to be publically identified and handled accordingly. End of story...

If she is proven to have broken the law/rules-so be it. BURN HER...

Please tells us, what reason?

Expecting one of those: "I know where there is an ATM churning out fresh $100 dollar bills without a PIN # but I can't tell you where it is" replies.

O'Donnell Denies Misuse of Campaign Funds

Failed U.S. Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell denied Thursday that she had inappropriately used any campaign funds, defending herself a day after the disclosure of a criminal investigation into her spending.

"There's been no impermissible use of campaign funds whatsover, O'Donnell told ABC's "Good Morning America." "You have to look at this whole thug politic tactic for what it is," she said Thursday. She said neither she nor her campaign have been informed of a federal investigation.

There's an old adage: Where there's smoke, there's fire.

Let's face it, O'Donnell isn't exactly the sharpest crayon in the box. She has led a fairly charmed life until recently, loves attention and is used to having things go her way for the most part.

The problem here is that she got caught. She doesn't deny using the funds to pay the rent on her home. She's claiming it shouldn't be an issue because her home was used as her campaign headquarters part of the time.

Since you seem to enjoy her quotes, here's a few more:

"It is not enough to be abstinent with other people, you also have to be be abstinent alone. The Bible says that lust in your heart is committing adultery, so you can't masturbate without lust."

"We took the Bible and prayer out of public schools. Now we're having weekly shootings. We had the 60s sexual revolution, and now people are dying of AIDS."

"You can't masturbate without lust." / "I'm a young woman in my thirties and I remain chaste."

"God may choose to heal someone from cancer, yet that person still has a great deal of medical bills. The outstanding bills do not determine whether or not the patient has been healed by God."

"A candidate said several years ago, 'I'm not concerned the reason you vote for me as long as you vote for me.'"

"America is now a socialist economy. The definition of a socialist economy is when 50% or more your economy is dependent on the federal government."

www.huffingtonpost.com...&title=Masturbation%20%3D%20Adultery

Once again, I've stated no opinion regarding the alleged improprieties. After all bizareness isn't a crime. However I do think this woman fell out of the crazy tree and hit every branch on the way down.

Where there's smoke...there is likely a big pot of voodoo brew with eye of newt simmering.
