sure real funny, I was putting down the Colt one night to pick up a Gideon NT that a woman had left on the kitchen bar a few days earlier who also had recently gone through with an abortion that was more than likely mine as well (suppose that was the reason) and as soon as I started to open it an audible real time reality voice as if sitting next to me like a friend would, said my name then " I am Jesus, I died for your sins believe in Me and you will never perish" awestruck (note I had'nt grown up "churched" or knew any scriptures beforehand had also been making fun of God/Christian whatever at that time, though I did see a powerful looking winged angel bright like lightning all over even in the eyes as a kid land on the neighbors roof across the street) I quickly stood to my feet turned towards the invisible voice and said yes Lord, and came across these years later

suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven and he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus-Acts9

Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.-John5

For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead-2Cor5

for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow-Matt28

Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.-2Tim1

so "fairy tale, schizo, coulda been the devil, dark spirit, crazy, etc" are nothing new, there's not much I have'nt already heard/looked into or dealt with (even from those you would never think I would), so take it how you like but it's most definately not a lie

What does this have to do with thread title "The arrogance of the atheists"?

Atheists of this nature will constantly remind one of how they are not in a religion. And they are absolutely correct: Atheism is not a religion. But that's what disturbs me about it so much. For people not in a religion, they certainly do banty about their opinions about the nature of the Divine (i.e. non-existent) in much the same way as religious fundamentalists.

Believe what you believe and let atheists do the same. I' ve learned not to be intrusive with my beliefs and to accept that there are as many viewpoints as there are people on this planet. We all err to a degree - none of us is the absolute holder of the truth so it is immature to be critical of other people's beliefs.

I also like to differentiate between universal and personal knowledge. Universal knowledge can be verified, but personal is only true to the individual and results from his or her efforts to understand the cosmos. I think personal knowledge is beautiful, because it is a portrayal of each person's view of the universe. It might not be 100% right or true, but still it's how one perceives it through his body and mind mechanism.

Just a few thoughts...

Alexander

experience, testimony, scriptures, witnesses-

Concerning atheism and mass murder..It has been estimated that in less than the past 100 years, governments under the banner of communism have caused the death of somewhere between 40,472,000 to 259,432,000 human lives. www.conservapedia.com...

Bernard Nathanson, who helped to found the National Abortion Rights Action League, has written that he was responsible for more than 75,000 abortions throughout his pro-abortion career. He is now an outspoken advocate of the anti-abortion, pro-life position. He is often quoted as saying abortion is “the most atrocious holocaust in the history of the United States.” That’s right, Fred, “the most atrocious holocaust.” Nathanson grew up Jewish and described himself as a “Jewish atheist.” He is no longer an atheist. You can read his rejection of atheism here. In his book Aborting America (1979), Nathanson, citing a statement by the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America, gives the other side of the Talmudic foolishness quoted by Fred the Atheist americanvision.org...

Russia was the first country in the world to legalize abortion, in 1920..And with the population level in severe decline -- demographers estimate it could fall below 100 million by 2050, from 150 million in 1992 -- the Russian government is also keen to tackle the issue of abortion. Last year, then-President Vladimir Putin introduced a long-term project to encourage women to have families with more than one child. www.rferl.org...

Taken all together, we have 401 million deaths over nearly 2000 years of war and barbarism. Just for the sake of argument, let’s add another 10%, or 40 million, to cover margins of error, and other wars. This would bring our total to 441 million deaths over the last 20 centuries.

Now, what about abortion? At the low end of the Guttmacher scale, even if we ignore all abortions done prior to 1980 when accurate numbers are a little more difficult to ascertain, abortion accounts for more than twice the number of deaths by war! In just the last 25 years, the ghastly toll for abortion has totaled over 900 million dead babies. Taking the more probable mean average, the toll rises to well over 1 billion babies; or nearly three times the amount of deaths due to war. www.covenantnews.com...

Dr. Lejeune explained that within three to seven days after fertilization we can determine if the new human being is a boy or a girl. "At no time," Dr. Lejeune said, "is the human being a blob of protoplasm. As far as your nature is concerned, I see no difference between the early person that you were at conception and the late person which you are now. You were, and are, a human being." www.prolife.com...

Russia is facing a demographic crisis so severe that it threatens the nation's existence as a world power. The population is shrinking by an average of 700,000 people a year www.martinfrost.ws...

The Bolsheviks’ fantasy of a Godless, morals free utopia, peopled by a New UnMan–a soulless, polymorphously perverse industrial robot– collapsed into a hellish nightmare. It was a scene out of a pornographic bedlam: hordes of conscienceless “children of the State” visiting havoc and crime upon cities and towns, sex slavery, prostitution, gross debauchery and outright chaos. After years of revolution and famine the economy was severely damaged, and with the death of the family—the building block of society—both economy and culture collapsed.

Too late, the Bolsheviks and Lenin realized that without the family, there is no future. www.thelandofthefree.net...

I have been watching and participating in several threads on ATS lately about atheism vs religion. While I don't really agree with "religion" per se, I am always horrified by the callous disregard that the atheists have for anyone's belief in anything other than what is tangible and scientifically proven.

Molecules-to-man Evolution is neither tangible nor scientifically proven.
