Who invented the "question"?

When did we start to "question"?

Pretty simple and straight forward really, and related to philosophy.

This is not that easy to answer, as the question revolves around the idea of "question".

Who did invent "question"?

It has boggled my mind for 6 months now, my brain really hurts, now I would like to share my headaches with the rest of the world.

Questioning is just a different state of mind. Its just something to describe a feeling where we are constantly searching for something as opposed to exploring or trying to understand, if that makes sense.

I have no idea won invited the question, but I imagine it goes back to when language was first invented. A caveman was trying to convey his emotions to his significant other. So he pointed at the fuzzy white things in the sky and said, "Huh?" and shook his head in disapproval about it's existence.

That's why questions haunt us so much, it's hard to be comfortable about something that has potentially negative benefits. Look at death for example...there could be paradise after death. But since we don't know, it raises doubts in our consciousness and can even cause severe anxiety if you over think it. You can't find something that's not there.

I think man was being chased by a tiger, he climbed a tree. His first question was, "How do I get down".

It was a guy named Eddy, back in the 12th century. I believe he never applied for a patent.....

But seriously, what, where, when, how, who are not inventions, it's an anomaly of the conscious mind.

Peace

Once upon a time many many many years ago
in a land far far far far far away
there lived a neanderthal tribe.

One day one of it's members named Ogadnik
was sitting around the campfire with everyone
else and he just blurted out:

Is anyone hungry?

they all shook their heads in agreement
and dropped their spears and strolled
around the big rock quarry to the local Micky
D's for a dinosaur burger and a bat shake.

While there, Ogadnik took a stone and scribbled
this event on the Micky D's bathroom rock stall
and the rest is history.

the end

BUT was the tiger thinking "Why wont my food stop moving?"

thus asking the question FIRST.

Ergo, man is not the first to ask ... it is merely a result of situation.

Who invented questioning?

It was a little kid who asked why why why all day and drove his or her parents totally insane.

Does the tiger recognize itself in the mirror as being him??....no??...then he never questioned, he just reacted..

Ergo man remains the first. Well maybe dolphins beat us to it....

Yes, obviously American..
Most people "nod" agreement..
Is it a US thing to shake your head when you agree?

No wonder their foreign affairs are screwed..

Hi Lurk,

Love your answers.

No-one has answered my American rant.

I like Americans - I just don't understand them. And they don't understand kiwis.
