COLES' decision to sell hormone growth promotant-free beef has been labelled a "gimmick".

All beef in Coles supermarkets will be HGP-free from Sunday, in a move that has angered scientists and farmers.

"Coles has no right to be denying Australian producers access to the latest technology or dictating to them how to grow beef," said Peter Holdsworth, chief executive of Animal Health Alliance, which represents companies selling animal health products.

"Today it's HGPs - tomorrow it could be anything ... we see this as a supermarket gimmick - it is not based on science."

Hormone-enhanced meat off the shelves at Coles supermarkets across Australia?

That may sound like a good or a bad idea, depending on your perspective.

I have suspicions that this type of hormone added to the meat may be responsible for early puberty in girls.

Gimmick my ass....How can all natural be anything but good???

Funny how the MSM are turning things around like this...or should I say, not funny at all.

You mean the MSM is making the split between all-natural, organic foods and foods enhanced by hormones?

It would certainly have a heavy influence over our diets.
