If you think about it the people who are entrenched in power will never willingly give it up. Why would they choose to go backwards?

Instead they are always seeking new ways to remain in power. The way that they do this is by realizing the past while embracing future change.

One constant amongst all past civilizations and societies is that the few always attempt to control the majority by any number of means. Almost all societies are influenced by their respective mythological past and histories as well as by those of their neighboring societies.

I believe that the few make things happen, while the majority watch things happen and believe that things happen to them. Of course, the amount of coercion that the few apply to the many influences this aspect of reality as well.

Myths generally take place in a primordial age, when the world had not yet achieved its current form, and explain how the world gained its current form and how customs, institutions and taboos were established.

en.wikipedia.org...

So our future is always changing, sometimes for the better, other times for the worse.

What amount of influence does the current form of reality, believed by the masses as our reality, have upon our future?

What amount of influence do the few hold over our future path?

Examples: Religious texts, Messiahs, Money, 9/11, Social Security, Architecture, New Order of the Wolrd, Government legislation, Wars, Television, Movies, Plays, Books, National Debts, Traditions and Holidays, Social Norms, Truth, etc

That being said, I think it would be better to live in a world where we can create our own future rather than having our future created for us.

And that is something that must be fought for, because almost everyone is against you. And the reason is because any challenge to another persons beliefs or version of reality is likely to be judged as a threat. One must be open minded, but you must be careful of what you choose to believe.

Some people are ignorant of the past, while others are afraid of the future. A few realize that both the past and the future are reality.

I suspect that this is the future that we are pursuing.

He will judge between many peoples and will settle disputes for strong nations far and wide. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore.

This bible?

Ezekiel 23:19-20 NET

Yet she increased her prostitution, remembering the days of her youth when she engaged in prostitution in the land of Egypt. She lusted after their genitals as large as those of donkeys, and their seminal emission was as strong as that of stallions

"Now kill all the boys. And kill every woman who has slept with a man, but save for yourself every girl who has never slept with a man." (Numbers 31:17-18)

"If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found; Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel's father fifty shekels of silvers, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days." (Deuteronomy 22:28-29

im down with the whole world peace thing . But if god is behind this bible i got a few questions for him.

So is it (Bible God) a myth?

And weather or not you agree with it (Bible God) does it make any difference at all, if God is all powerful?

I had no idea that I was cited as being lusted after by chicks in biblical times.

This message brought to you by Moses... The same Moses who cited the 10 commandments. Some of the same commandments found in the Egyptian Book of the Dead. If you go back further in the past, and you'll find all sorts of regurgitation.

At least we're able to read it now. Had it been for the Roman Catholic Church this mess would have maintained their system of authority.

Reality is assembled by a process of spun mass. The department we're lacking in is the programming language... Soon to be a non-issue.

[Note: I do alot of posts like this for my own research. I don't expect many to follow it]

Mohammed Atta was born in Egypt where the Coptic Eastern Orthodox Church is located, but studied in Germany where Protestantism originated.

--------------------------

There are three main branches of Christianity.

Protestantism is one of the three major divisions (Roman Catholicism, The Orthodox Church, and Protestantism) within Christianity.

en.wikipedia.org...

Martin Luther was shocked by the corruption of the clergy on a trip to Rome in 1510. Sixtus IV (1471–1484) was the first Pope to impose a license on brothels and a special tax on priests who kept a mistress. He also established the practice of selling indulgences to be applied to the dead, thereby establishing a virtually infinite source of revenue.

The protests against the corruption emanating from Rome began in earnest when Martin Luther, an Augustinian monk at the university of Wittenberg, called in 1517 for a reopening of the debate on the sale of indulgences and the authority to absolve sin and remit one from purgatory. Luther's dissent marked a sudden outbreak of a new and irresistible force of discontent. The Reformers made heavy use of inexpensive pamphlets (using the relatively new printing press) so there was swift movement of both ideas and documents, including The Ninety-Five Theses.

The Apocrypha is contained within the bible of the Catholic church and the Eastern Orthodox church.

Apocrypha (from the Greek word ἀπόκρυφος meaning hidden

en.wikipedia.org...

In 1592, Pope Clement VIII published his revised edition of the Vulgate.

The Vulgate is a late 4th-century Latin version of the Bible.

en.wikipedia.org...

The Gutenberg bible of 1455 and the Luther bible of 1534 contained the Apocrypha.

All King James Bibles published before 1640 included the Apocrypha.

en.wikipedia.org...

And then ...

In 1826, the British and Foreign Bible Society decided that no BFBS funds were to pay for printing any Apocryphal books anywhere. Since then most modern editions of the Bible and re-printings of the King James Bible omit the Apocrypha section.

en.wikipedia.org...

The Septuagint, the pre-eminent Greek version of the Old Testament, contains books that are not present in the Hebrew Bible. These texts are not traditionally segregated into a separate section, nor are they usually called apocrypha. Rather, they are referred to as the Anagignoskomena ("things that are read").

en.wikipedia.org...

Modern reprintings of the Clementine Vulgate commonly omit the Apocrypha section. Many reprintings of older versions of the Bible now omit the apocrypha and many newer translations and revisions have never included them at all.

en.wikipedia.org...

The Jewish Masoretic Text also omits the Apocrypha (Deuterocanonicals)

Judaism and most Protestant versions of the Bible exclude these books. It is commonly said that Judaism officially excluded the deuterocanonicals and the additional Greek texts listed here from their Scripture in the Council of Jamnia (c.70-90 AD), but this claim is also disputed.

The Council of Jamnia or Council of Yavne is a hypothetical late 1st-century council at which it is postulated the canon of the Hebrew Bible was defined.

en.wikipedia.org...

The Deuterocanonical books are considered canonical by Roman Catholics, but are considered non-canonical by most Protestants. The word deuterocanonical comes from the Greek meaning 'belonging to the second canon'.

The original usage of the term distinguished these scriptures both from those considered non-canonical and from those considered protocanonical. However, some editions of the Bible include text from both deuterocanonical and non-canonical scriptures in a single section designated "Apocrypha". This arrangement can lead to conflation between the otherwise distinct terms "deuterocanonical" and "apocryphal".

en.wikipedia.org...

The Apocrypha was used alongside the writings of the Church fathers. Manuscripts of the Greek Septuagint had them as an addendum to the canonical Old Testament. Philo a Jewish philosopher in A.D. 40 quotes from the Old Testament and recognizes the standard threefold division but never quotes the Apocrypha as inspired. In the 2nd Century The Jewish historian Josephus deliberately excludes it. He wrote: "The Jews had only twenty-two books that deserved belief, but those which were written after the time of Artaxerxes (the Apocrypha) were not of equal credit with the rest, in which period they had no prophets at all" (Lib. 1, Con. Apion.).

What makes this interesting is modern findings of the Dead Sea Scrolls. The scrolls in the Qumran caves date back to as early as 250 B.C. most are from 100-150 B.C.. Within the 800 scrolls, all the Old Testament books were found minus Esther, neither were there any of the Apocryphal writings. The more one is aware of Hebrew and there culture the less likely they accepted these books. Both Jerome and Origin knew Hebrew; the first Latin Bibles were translated from the Septuagint and included the Apocrypha. Jerome's Vulgate had distinguished the Apocrypha as canonical and was assigned a secondary status. He at first refused to translate these books into Latin but later made a quick translation it was after his death they were brought into the vulgate from the Latin version.

No Roman Catholic was required to believe that the Apocrypha was Scripture, until 1,500 years later at the council of Trent. Most believe it was Rome's reaction to the new movement of getting back to the Scriptures that were God breathed.

christian-truths2.blogspot.com...

The Septuagint or simply "LXX", referred to in critical works by the abbreviation is the Koine Greek version of the Hebrew Bible, translated in stages between the 3rd and 2nd century BCE in Alexandria. It was begun by the 3rd century BCE and completed before 132 BCE.

It is the oldest of several ancient translations of the Hebrew Bible into Greek, lingua franca of the eastern Mediterranean Basin from the time of Alexander the Great (356-323 BCE).

The Septuagint was held in great respect in ancient times; Philo and Josephus ascribed divine inspiration to its authors. Besides the Old Latin versions, the LXX is also the basis for the Slavonic, the Syriac, Old Armenian, Old Georgian and Coptic versions of the Old Testament.

What about Gnosticism?

Gnosticism (Greek: γνῶσις gnōsis, knowledge) refers to diverse, syncretistic religious movements in antiquity consisting of various belief systems generally united in the teaching that the material cosmos was created by an imperfect god ...

Gnosticism was a dualistic religion, influenced by and influencing Hellenic philosophy, Judaism, and Christianity.

Critics claim that the Apocrypha was used as a source for the Book of Mormon.

Response:

The following claims are made:

* That Joseph Smith created the story of Nephi and Laban by plagiarizing concepts and phrases from the story of Judith and Holofernes in the Apocrypha.
* That Joseph Smith copied the name "Nephi" from the Apocrypha.

In order to support these claims, it would have been necessary for Joseph to have obtained a Bible containing the Apocrypha. It is known that Oliver Cowdery purchased a Bible in October 1829, although it is not known if this Bible contained the Apocrypha. The Book of Mormon, however, was already at press by this time, with the copyright being registered on 11 June 1829.

en.fairmormon.org...

----------------------------------------------

When the Prophet Joseph Smith was translating the Bible in 1833 he received a revelation from the Lord, now included in the Mormon Scripture, the Doctrine and Covenants, as Section 91, in which he was told—

Verily, thus saith the Lord unto you concerning the Apocrypha–There are many things contained therein that are true, and it is mostly translated correctly; There are many things contained therein that are not true, which are interpolations by the hands of men. Verily, I say unto you, that it is not needful that the Apocrypha should be translated (D&C 93:1-3).

(D&C 93:1-3).The versions of the Bible that are used by the Mormon Church depend on which language is spoken. In English, the accepted version of the Bible is the King James Version, and the Mormon Church accepts it, and all other versions, only insofar as they are translated correctly.

Luther taught that salvation is not earned by good deeds but received only as a free gift of God's grace through faith in Jesus as redeemer from sin. His theology challenged the authority of the pope of the Roman Catholic Church by teaching that the Bible is the only source of divinely revealed knowledge and opposed sacerdotalism by considering all baptized Christians to be a holy priesthood.

How about Masonry?

The Masons are not a Protestant sect that came about as a result of the Reformation; rather they trace their origins to Medieval Monks who were also Knights. The group went into schism and claimed to have "secret knowledge" about God. In other words, it was nothing more than a rehash of the gnostic heresy that plagued the Church in the early centuries.

Masons try to incorporate elements of Christianity, Judaism, and Islam into their rituals. Although they are religious, and they require faith in God to be member, you really can't call Masonry a religion of it's own.

For many members (especially those at the lower levels) it's just a social lodge. To their credit, Masons are also known for works of charity within the community. At the same time, they profess high ethical standards with an emphasis on the brotherhood of man.

However, as one climbs the Masonic ladder, one gets polluted by heresy.

Their beliefs seek to reconcile all world religions based on this "secret knowledge" they claim to have. Hence, they are not only heretical by Catholic standards; they are heretical by Protestant, Jewish, and Islamic standards. The motivation of some such Mason's may seem honorable and sincere. Nevertheless, they are sincerely wrong.

Therefore, Masonry is not an acceptable practice for a Catholic to get involved in.

Synopsis of previous research on the Apocrypha:

[Note: I'm not entirely clear on the timelines and exact history, but it should be clear that the Babylonians enslaved the Jews while the Persians Freed the Jews, then the Persians invaded Greece www.bibleworldhistory.com... ]

The Apocrypha is the transition from Hebrew (Old) to Greek (New).

For 400 years prior to Christ the Hebrew Prophets were silent, but the Hebrews deny Christ just as the Masons do.

The Apocrypha originates from Greece and takes place 400 years prior to Christ.

The Fall of Solomons temple also takes place during this time period.

This (The Apocrypha) has to do with the Fall of Greece and it's incorporation into Roman history, which the Germans later accept, then reject and then accept again conditionally.

Later the English and then the Americans get in on the action.

So now many years later Old Babylon (Iraq - Conservative) is invaded by America and Old Persia (Iran - Liberal) is involved in a cold war with America.

But isn't America just about religious freedom?

No it appears to be about world invasion.

It's just an elaborate game of pass the football.
