Just wanted to say, that because you serfs are so STUPID, you deserve to be taxed any amount we elitists desire. We know better than you morons. That is why we do not listen to the serfs, you are too stupid to understand.

That is why we tax tobacco at 700% of what it is worth. It has nothing to do with the numerous lawsuits over the years that have been won by socialistic lawyers created by the government, and then we insituted these systems to keep the system running. OH NO, do not look deeper into THAT!

NOW, the system needs more money, so we are going to begin taxing you at 500-1000% for your energy costs. Now you morons and idiots are too stupid to understand that you are KILLING GAIA, so it is our duty as elitists to make you slaves to the system.

Now, you idiots and morons are required to pay these rates because you are toooo stupid to understand. BUT, since we enlightened people know the problems, we will be given ourselves a break, JUST LIKE EVERY other system we have instituted. Since you are toooo stupid to understand, I am guessing you should be kissing our feet shortly.

By the way, Let them eat cake!

I don't care if they raise the tobacco tax. People don't need that crap anyway.

I don't feel sorry for people who are addicted to it either. We'll build you a special chamber where you can smoke until you drop dead. Want medical care? We'll pay your funeral expenses!

I'm assuming you're being sarcastic here, but i have to say, apart from the tax on tobacco and fuels etc, i cannot see that people are to be taxed at the levels you mention for their energy won't happen, it can't happen.

People cannot afford energy costs as it is, never mind coughing up to 10X more for it.

It won't hunt.

They'll have more luck raising tax on booze and cigs 10X than they would taxing energy at that rate.

btw, expect plenty of negative comments...many will not get the thrust of your post.

I like the approach of your other thread much better, but preaching to the choir doesn't do much good (on your other thread). I also don't believe that is an accurate portrayal of the elitists motivation.

Ok so you are making multiple threads here, so I want to point out that my preaching to the choir reference was about people being serfs, not so sure I agree with any thing else, and certainly not the approach.

I use ATS as a sounding board.

This is NOT my only outlet.

You folks here are my inspiration by the way.

In the UK, the medical services (NHS) *rely* on the income generated from tax on smokers and drinkers...

Say tptb banned tobacco and alcohol tomorrow, and the NHS didn't get the billions of £'s from the heavy taxes imposed on them, the health service would collapse after a short while.

It's smokers and drinkers who actually prop up the service...threatening to not treat people who smoke or drink, in this case, is a little like saying a supermarket is going to ban anyone who spends the most money at their wouldn't work.

People who are non smokers and or drinkers *always* whine and whinge about those that do, but fail to realise it is those that do, that prop up the health service for those that don't.

No bloody we are, smoking and drinking ourselves to death, just so you ungrateful straight laced types can get a better health service...moan moan moan!

I appreciate EVERYONE'S input.

Yes, I have been an ass on many threads> I am attempting to actually equate your responses.

Come on, if you do not get folks actually telling you something, are YOU ACTUALLY GOING TO BELIEVE.

How bout using that imagination buried deep to think and to respond. How bout getting PISSED and doing something!

Taxes are old hat.

Upon birth a person should be billed and have to work until they pay off the bill.

Freedom isn't free, you guise.

I do get pissed here (angry for UK peeps), but expressing it within ATS T&C is difficult.

I know what i'd *like* to say to a lot of people and posts on here, but don't...there's a message in there somewhere i think.

You REALLY have to add an /s or some peeps will think you are serious.

Thanks for visiting by the way EX1, you are my favorite visitor, even though others garner my attention.

I just want to say something to those that read my extrapolations, I usually only respond to those that either misunderstand my points or those that completely have NO IDEA.

For those that respond with encouragement or other ideals, THEY ALL go into the brain; THEY ARE ABSORBED and become my knowledge.

As a smoker without medical insurance I do not mind the tax increase to help offset possible future health complications. I do mind if that tax money is just thrown away on greedy noobs with bad ideas.

posted on Dec, 27 2010 @ 03:55 AM
Just to finish the idea on the taxation of tobacco.
First off, tobacco does not cause the price to insurance that the government proposes. Look into it.

Second, I find that tobacco is systemic to the system. What ELSE do they want to control?

In that imprisoned island; the UK, smokers pay something like 11 billion in taxes but only use .6 billion in health care costs.

*Non-smokers are practically tax cheats. They should be made to pay additional taxes to make sure they are doing their bit.

Taxes are the price we pay for civilization. Clearly it is smokers who are funding civilization the most and who care the most about civilization.

KILLING GAIA? i very much doubt that. my take on this is gaia will plod along until it decides we are a threat, then mass sub-duction will occur taking out all continents. 'ahh peace at last, now where was i?'

btw tobacco taxes. in the uk a 50g pouch of drum original is about £12.50. in greece it is about £6.00 give or take some pennies.

Sorry Mod, I was on a ROLLLLLL!

Since I never specifically called anyone anything, I thought it would be okay.

I will attempt to curb my facetious attitude, but for SOME reason, Christmas brings it out in me.

Maybe because I HAVE to spend time with liberal weanies in my own family or maybe because I am an #.

Benny Hill would have to say something about it.
