I'm not sure what ol' Al is talking about for sure. It SOUNDS to me like he's saying that if the black population is 5% of a town, then 5% of the business contracts should be mandated to go to black owned business'. (is that what he said??) I have never heard of open capitalism and an open market system refered to as 'spoils' before. And I've never heard of the government mandating that a percentage of business MUST be done with black owned business. They might have .. but I haven't heard of mandating it. Getting tax breaks for using minority business .. yes. But mandating?

Doesnt' capitalism mean that the person with the best product and best marketing skills gets the most business and the most $$? Doesn't free market mean that if you put out a poor product then it FAILS instead of being propped up by the government through mandates that people have to use your piss-poor product instead of the one that they really want? (bailouts of the car companies recently are anti-capitalism, but that's not what I'm talking about .. no one is mandating the purchase of those cars).

So ... Gov't laws to use certain business based upon the race of the owner? More marxist wealth redistribution .. racist in nature ... that's my take on this (if I'm reading what he's saying correctly). Countrywide? Wonder if the Obama administration would go for it. hmmmm ..... [

Sharpton is part of what's wrong with the black community. People like him have made a career of telling poor black folks that they can't do anything because of white people, that they simply can't get ahead on their own merits and skills. Sharpton calls the black community useless and incapable with rhetoric like this. He thinks they are so useless that the only way, in his mind, that the black community can get ahead is to have government steal from others, mandate that we go only to black businesses, and redistribute wealth because they can't do this on their own.

If I were a Black man I'd be insulted.

I've known many successful black men who look at Sharpton like the communist useless eater he is. No one should really pay any attention to this piece of crap. He does the fight for civil rights a disservice every time his mouth opens.

Yes, but at the federal level it is "minority business" and not just "black businesses ...

Now the minority businesses are businesses majority owned by African Americans, Hispanics, Native Americans, Asian Pacific Americans, Asian Indians, Sri Lankans,Tongans and Indonesians.

Cant watch the video (too expensive) but is he calling for a bigger share of the rebuilding contracts in the countries so recently bombed into oblivion in order to indebt them to us for rebuilding what we destroyed over there?

I AGREE with you man 100%, I've been saying the same things since 94 on usenet, and been called all sorts of hate by utter left wing nutjobs who make it their life to seek out anything other than submission and guilt and call it hatered and cause.

First off his use of the word "spoils" really shows what kind of mind we are dealing with here.

Having said that many whites wouldnt hire a black guy to do pluming in there home even if he were the best at it. Oh maybe over time if the guy comes highly recomended but even then most would rather hire a white guy if the black mans price wasnt cheeper.

The auto thing was a organized labor in bed with government thing. But the race issue is another.

In all fairness any former slave deserves reparations. That being said,since there are no living former slaves. Anyone expecting reparations should have to prove a 100% African lineage to a former slave,with a 15% deduction in the reparations per generational distance from the former slave. Now that would be fair would it not ?

I expect to get that response eventually too. But unlike my friends on the left I've done the research to support my claims. The ideology this mans holds on to today was responsible for the creation and perpetuation of the ghetto. It's sick that he doesn't realize that the people he campaigns for, the policies he supports, are the reason that the ghetto and the enslavement of the black community continues to this day. People like him don't know they're Uncle Tom. They pander to the slave master. The proof is in pudding.

Even during the early Progressive Era, where much of this started, Progressive politicians, "social justice"(term has been around a while) people, would pander to the black community, promise them the world. Woodrow Wilson, the most famous racist in presidential history did just that to get elected. The black community took him to his word and gave him their vote.

He continued to lie, even after his election, to deflect blame for insults to the black community like the segregation of the Armed Forces, the expulsion of all blacks from holding a job with the Federal Government, and his support for the zoning agenda that created the ghetto we know and love today.

These people haven't gone away. Today the same progressive movement uses morons like Al Sharpton to spread their message of global socialism, wealth redistribution, and slavery under the clever moniker of "Social Justice". The man responsible for the fame Sharpton enjoys today, Martin Luther King Jr. would have scoffed at this idea. MLK Jr. believed in EQUAL JUSTICE. He believed in EQUAL PROTECTION UNDER THE LAW. Taking money from my white ass would just be a sin. My GD worked in the mines from before he was 14. I saw it on an old census doing research. Thats back in pick and shovel days all the way up untill he was an old man. I used to go down there as a boy and have been around and all over the world and have never seen black folks that lived any worse off than my dads world. When my dad left the mine fields and moved to the big city he might as well have been a first generation immigrant. I was the first one in all that time to see a kid graduate college and she had to work full time all the way and owes some amount of loans yet whiel most of the black kids she went to college with had most or all of their college paid for. My son is in college now and gets most of his paid due to his brain. Georgetown wanted him to play football and go to school there but he didnt. if he had it would have been 4 generations from coal mine to Georgetown and 6 generations from WVA log cabin, 1827, in one of the most remote places in WVA to Georgetown. So some guy wants reparations from me? Do you see what a joke it is? They have to do what I did and break the cycle and its much easier for them to do it today than it was for me and mine.

See I agree with you.I believe that you make your own breaks,just like your son has. If you look at the stipulations I figured for reparations.It has been 145 years since 1865 take that as a starting point.Figure a generation at 20 years,that is 7+ generations x 15% that will place you at a -5% of reparations.
