US lawmakers have effectively blocked President Barack Obama's efforts to close the controversial terror prison in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, by approving a Pentagon budge that forbids spending money on the move.
After months of wrangling, both the House and Senate Wednesday approved a $725.9 billion defense spending plan for the fiscal year that began October 1, 2010.
Included in the bill is language that makes it virtually impossible to close the prison by building a substitute prison

I tend to take the cynical view. I rather doubt Obama had much intention at all of keeping any of his campaign promises.

Back in the '90s there were a lot of base closures and consolidations to save money. Now they tell us that it costs more money to close a base than to keep it open. Just think how much money we could have saved if we kept all of those bases open back then.

Nah,that's what the FEMA camps are for. Soon, the Goon Squads will complete their strangle-hold on the American public and there won't be any need to hide what they're doing. After that, they can 'localize' their operations.

Although it seems they spend money on anything, you have it wrong..
They would have to build a substitute prison somewhere..
That's where the money would be needed..
And as we know, nothing is cheap when the Government is involved..
