It seems like this is the first step towards a cash less society and the Orwellian nightmare, Scientists have found a way to attach a thin-film transistor to bank notes which will act much in the same way as the much debated RFID chips.

"GOOD old-fashioned cash is to go down the electronic route, now that it is possible to stamp simple electronic circuits directly onto banknotes.

Modern banknotes contain up to 50 anti-counterfeiting features, but adding electronic circuits programmed to confirm the note's authenticity is perhaps the ultimate deterrent, and would also help to simplify banknote tracking".

Thought this article required some ATS attention. What do you guys and girls think??

Personally, I'd say its a sign of the times.

We all know there's a scheme to manipulate the current monetary system.
Giving how corrupt things are now, its only a matter of time.

It will be electronic soon.
So that 'they' have ALL control.
Because right now they can't control personal sales.
If every monetary unit was regulated, they could.

Just another way to get more taxes.

How else is CONgress going to pay for all these new bills?

Gives new meaning to "jingling" in your pocket. Money that sings to let you know where it is. Gee, these magicians have now found a way to make money "come alive".

1st step?? LOL. More like step 5+

Scotiabank, here in Canada, introduced the debit card chip about 2 years ago...
They got everyone to sign up for this chip with a SCENE MOVIE CARD. Everytime you use your chip, you get points towards movies.. I mean, WHO dosen't like movies.

1st we use the chip for debit...
2nd we'll intergrate VISA/Mastercard AND debit on the chip...
Soon enough, everything will be on that chip and if you have a warrent for your arrest, they will simply shut your chip off.

Now with a tag in money the border patrol and cops can just use a scanner to find money in cars or at border crossings.
They will not even have to take it out to count it the scanner will read out the amount and add it up.

Its hard(somewhat) to smuggle drugs into the country but very easy to take drug money out of the country till these bills get into circulation.

And if each bill has its own readable # the bank would have a record of who got the bill.
And if later a number of your bills were found in a bundle of drug money the cops would have probable cause to investigate you as a drug user.

Or the drug cops could use a number of known bills in a undercover drug deal and later track who got the money at it went up the chain of the drug network.
A unknown cartel member taking his drug money and putting it in a bank would identify the cartel member.

Don't expect the government to warn the public about there real plans for using this electronic money.
Its not about counterfeit money(they will get that to) its about tracking drug money or other criminal money.
but they likely will get a few innocent people to once the drug dealers know the money is a trap.
