The Sun is the only thing that can cause extreme weather worldwide....

For anyone who is interested. A couple of amateurs have tried to come up with a method to mimic the sunspot counting method first adopted by Johann Rudolf Wolf (born 1816 ) This allows comparison to sun cycles before 1847. NOAA started counting invisible micro specks recently and has really skewed the data.

The site shows several different counting methods and the F10.7 value. Some of their theories are out in left field but the DATA they present is still interesting.

Interesting article I thought I would share, came here from the other thread btw

Heres the mentioned article:

A new ice age is due now, but you wont hear it from the green groups, who like to play on Western guilt about consumerism to make us believe in global warming.

At the end of 2007, WeatherAction predicted that temperatures in January could plummet to -17 °C in the Midlands, and that the average temperature for January would be close to freezing. This prediction was dismissed by the Met Office in a Guardian article on 2 January.[20] After the January prediction proved false, Mr. Corbyn blamed the incorrect forecast on an undefined 'procedural error,' but insisted that the second half of the month, specifically the period of 21–27 January, would be very cold.

The period 21–23 January continued very mild for the country as a whole..The final CET for January 2008 ended up over 3 °C above the standard reference average making Corbyn's predictions for a cold Jan very poor. In fact it ended up being one of the warmest Januarys since records began.

Piers Corbyn is a member of The Atlas Foundation, created by the late Sir Anthony Fisher (founder of the Institute of Economic Affairs), which received more than $100,000 in 2008 from ExxonMobil, according to the oil company's reports.
