As soon as you hear of any large earthquakes please check the link below to see if the xb37 is near the location. I have to go to bed.

It has been directly over the last couple of big one and when i say directly I me directly.

It just flew over Chile

Seagle, that's a pretty nifty link you posted. Gives me yet another reason to spend too much time sitting at the computer. Thanks!

mag 2.3 in Arizona

That area is pretty shaky

5.9 mag off coast of Nicaragua and guess who flew over that spot recently? Seagle's X37B OTV-2 (secret american spy satelite). Quake happened about 20 mins ago and I just saw it but that is the same flight path that the orbital test vehicle just flew. Whether it was exactly the same time...I can't figure that part out yet. Neat gadget.

Are you suggetsing the satellite set of the earthquake?

Don't be silly, it didn't go even go near Nicaragua, it flew over northern Mexico

At the top of this page, Seagle suggested a link between when this satellite flies over to larger quakes...how it appears to be directly above the quake site. When I noticed the Nicaragua quake, I checked the satelite and it had just flown by there. I realise it's stretching things a bit...but I found it coincidental. NO, I don't really think it's causing these earthquakes

Something big just let loose somewhere. No info on it yet, but P waves like this usually mean a 6.5+.

Will update if I find it in the next couple minutes.

I await your response to see where that happened!

Looking on the USGS....didn't know that Washington state had a quake today......

It was the 5.9 in Tonga.

earthquake.usgs.gov...

I figured that would be obvious. But here's the problem. I suspect that whoever they put on the night shift at USGS is a noob. They are being ultra conservative lately. I saw this a few days ago when one hit and went around the world twice. They rated it like a 5.6. You are correct in stating that was probably a 6.5 to have that kind of propagation. At the very least a 6.3. It is also on its second time around. And btw, those are S-waves and not P-waves you are seeing. Some of them are Ss waves, meaning they are refracted.

Still not finding anything on USGS.

It's not the 5.9 in Tonga, the last one shown on the world map, as that was a full 40 minutes earlier.

Local seismos still haven't settled down... things are jiggling.

umm, you wanna put some money on that?
I could use the extra cash. I was monitoring II.MSVF and watched it come in myself.

What time did you see that one? They're showingthe 5.9 at 2:06:47 UTC, and from the image I posted I see nothing at all from at least 2:24:00 UTC to 2:40UTC. I wouldn't expect it to take 35 minutes... then again.

5.9 Tonga

Not to butt-in but when Japan has had a big quake, it takes about 45 minutes before those waves show-up in Arkansas. When I saw the waves this evening, I was expecting to see a 6 or higher quake somewhere in the world.

That had to be it then.

For some reason I was thinking the successive Tonga 7.0ers back on '08 were taking about 20 minutes, and nothing else has shown up..

Case closed.
