If you look at the depth of the 33 quakes in chronological order, you will notice that they seem to ascend and descend in a pattern.

Is this true................?

And if it is true, is this the slow movement of magma upward?

Yellowstone - home of the lost earthquakes. Here if you are very quiet you will get to hear earthquakes that never make it to the listings. Some off the ones that do get on the list are smaller than the ones that do not.

Here is the list. I have no idea what times these because they don't use UTC like 'normal' people.

www.seis.utah.edu...

0.8 2011/12/07 10:04:20 44.392N 110.668W 2.5 46 km (29 mi) SE of West Yellowstone, MT
1.0 2011/12/07 10:03:11 44.373N 110.668W 3.2 47 km (29 mi) SE of West Yellowstone, MT

From that list these two I have picked out because the 1.0 made it to the main lists and is this one if I have my times right.

Date/Time UTC,Latitude,Longitude,Magnitude,Depth(Km),Location
2011-12-07 17:03:11, 44.372, -110.668, 1.0, 3.2, Yellowstone National Park. Wyoming

Next on the UUSS list note that there is nothing for 10 hours before and 12 hours after the mag 1.0

[ex 2.5 2011/12/07 22:40:33 45.043N 110.384W 16.5 26 km (16 mi) E of Gardiner, MT
0.8 2011/12/07 10:04:20 44.392N 110.668W 2.5 46 km (29 mi) SE of West Yellowstone, MT
1.0 2011/12/07 10:03:11 44.373N 110.668W 3.2 47 km (29 mi) SE of West Yellowstone, MT
1.1 2011/12/06 23:33:04 44.546N 110.960W 11.5 17 km (11 mi) SE of West Yellowstone, MT

Oh reeeeelly???? So i will be guessing that these is buffalooz den.

Not only is the first one on that image larger but the third vertical line which is the 1.0 is followed by a bunch of them.

This 'slice' is from 13:00 UTC to 18:00 UTC so comes nowhere near the 10 hrs before or the 12 hrs after the Mag 1.0, yet in the space on the list I see at least another 4 earthquakes that potentially are bigger then the 1.0.

Slicing that up and showing it as a waveform I get this:

The second one - yes the second one - and the little third one are the 17:03 and 17:04 (Mag 1.0 and Mag 0.8)

If you don't believe me that the others are bigger take a listen to the audio of that waveform image above.

YNP-Combo-07Dec11.WAV (1.3 Mb)

So, as I said - Yellowstone - home of the lost earthquakes.

Sorry ETA the seismogram for the sounds: H17A.TA..HNZ.2011.341

He mentions something about frictional heating.

However, if he keeps predicting daily like he has been, sooner or later he is going to hit the prophetic lottery jack pot............Woooo Hooooo!

I read you post and pulled up the LA quake cam. Thanks for the heads up and the links. I have a loved one in that area so let's hope this prediction is false.

Well not too long to go to find out. Based on the entrails of the last road kill I passed and the random pattern of bird droppings on my car I would say that, nay I would predict that he is off the mark by a very long way.

The full moon should be almost directly overhead Mexico and the edge of Cali at 06:40 UTC which is about 5 hours away.

Just off to make tea with real tea so i can read the cup and then tomorrow I will go see the palm reader.

Riiiiiight

As someone said above, keep predicting daily (and for the hotspots!) and you'll hit one or two eventually.

Ohh come on Puterman - you know only too well there'll be a mag 6 somewhere (it's been darn quiet, after all) and it only needs to be on the Ring of Fire for someone to be right.. somewhere.. somehow.. !!

There are that many predicting these days there will soon be people who predict who's going to predict correctly!!
