Yellowstone was mentioned a couple of pages back, well it's popped up on EDIS along with Island Park caldera

Yellowstone 2011-11-08 13:40:29 2.5 11.80 Km
Island Park 2011-11-08 13:40:29 2.5 11.80 Km

Why same size and depth at both in two different states?

Here's Long Valley today
2011-11-11 00:58:02 2.2 6.40 Km

Question for me....will my knicker elastic hold to save my blushes or will it go 'ping'? This week end is going to be veeery interesting!

@TA.....loving your new thread, got it bookmarked....might turn up there 'commando' if you get my drifft!

So last night was the full moon and nothing happened. Tonight is the end of the word because it is 11-11-11 or something so what is in store for the rest of the week end?

I would have thought that it the knicker elastic breaks you would be too busy to go commando to TAs thread. However, in the same vein as the Captain of the Titanic's "what iceberg?", I shall say "what earthquake?" I am not expecting any earthquake.

By the way RSOE on those supervolcanoes pages often just slam up all the quakes so they do appear under two or more different areas. It is what is know as being incompetent.

Now I am going to have to spend the weekend decontaminating myself.

KIP.IU.00.BHZ.2011.315

Looks as if the seismo had a problem and is now flat-lined. I don't think that is putting out any real data.

It is the same on KIP.IU.00.LHZ.2011.315 and on the V channels.

"So last night was the full moon and nothing happened"

Now I really think you missed the obsession ..

You always surprise my how deep thinking you have, fortunately for understanding don't need open mind and is not necessarily to know all options ..

Anyone an post and read charts, you can put million post and will be always at same place ..

If you are here person No.1 what learning people about eartqvekes you need to start connecting dots and influence what causing eartqvekes ..

Because have to many dots and every one need many years to understood and connect them ..

Understood eartqvekes is one of more hardest thing for all of us in human history, without knowing how our solar system works and from what is or was made you can back to Earth function ..

I don't nothing personally my friend against you, reason way I post this is because everyone here listen you and every your words like holly book ..

We are here all for learning but that that I think so in first place, now don't think so any more ..

We need some smart and open minds "kid's" to learn us new ways or similar to understood eartqvekes because no one understood them enough ..

They have that energy and inflect I read many thread here and don't have any a attentions, why that??

Because only one thing, leaders here on ATS only pumping there ego and not supported new members or open theories what have "surface" ..

As an some old barn it's not interesting man, lead you people but not in closed circle you are No.1 here ..

With circle we are at same place anytime it's time to go ahead a specially for learning eartqvekes ..

Our time is gone we are old "used"horses without energy, give them proper support and don't stay in silents because people are very lost and amenable, I wrote this for all "bosses" here on ATS ..

Peace ..

Hi you all everybody

Do any of you quake watchers ever look at the data from the Earthscope ANF pages found here?

It seems to show many events never found on USGS. Is their info accurate? Is it preliminary, and a lot of what I'm seeing on the current map gets culled out? Just curious.

I do like their station map to find locations of TA stations and the tools pages which make it easy to see earthquakes caught by any/many nearby stations.

Any input on reliability will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

P.S. The big red square a few hundred miles offshore of San Diego, CA is interesting--if real. As is the mini-swarm in Minnesota.

Another one USGS missed (last one was the Samoa quake earlier in the week)

luckily GFZ spotted it
geofon.gfz-potsdam.de...
how on earth could USGS miss that eh? on SNZO which is a station in thier own "Global Seismograph Network (GSN - IRIS/USGS)"

edit on 11-11-2011 by muzzy because: (no reason given)

So thats 2 Mag 5's in one week missed (that I noticed) multiply that by 104 fortnights per year there is potential of 208 quakes missed, but divide by 2 (margin of error) and that still leaves 104 missed quakes

how many Mag 5's per year listed ? I don't know but 104 I would imagine would be a decent %

Wow, what a find Olivine. I click on the USGS quite often but many of the earthquakes on Earthscope ANF are not listed on USGS. What is correct? Also, the LA ABC live quake cam went off this week. I figured it was broke but now are they just hiding stuff?

I also noticed that the Earthscope ANF site doesn't have the Utah quakes.

That page is handy to see quakes coming in and how far out some of them can be.
but
Note: This page provides information for use by seismologists. The information contained is of uncertain quality and should not be reported or linked to from other websites.

If you use it for your own use then you should note that the line in Red is the final one they used and posted on the main earthquakes page
