Berkeley Earthquake Prediction No Basis in Scientific Fact, Says USGS

berkeley.patch.com...

Thomas says he has been working on earthquake forecast methods for six years. His most recent method involves measuring the flow of electromagnetic radiation across the L.A. and San Francisco area.

"When there's a blockage in the energy, it's like a boulder in a river," said Thomas. "That blockage begins to block the water, and the water flows fast around that boulder. The bigger the blockage of energy, the larger the earthquake."

So, where does Thomas get his data? To gauge electromagnetic radiation levels, Thomas says he compiles information such as temperature changes, variations in dew point, wind changes and "human responses" to each that "may indicate fluctuations in the normal amount of electromagnetic radiation." Every day, seven days a week, Thomas processes the data and then hand draws maps and graphs showing the results, posting his findings on his website, quakeprediction.com.

Around Berkeley right now, Thomas says, there is a strong blockage in the electromagnetic field, indicating that an earthquake of magnitude 6.0 or more is on its way in the next day or so.

All I can say is... I AM prepared.

Stronger than the middle of the night one, or the 11:00 Pm one? This one was more shakey and less rolley at our house than the 5.6, and the dogs slept right through it. There was also no deep rumbling and groaning sound like with the big one

Very similar to the 4.3 but it did last quite a bit longer. These smaller ones really feel and sound like when the washing machine is off balance during the spin cycle and starts banging around so that you can feel it through the floor.

Awe jeez, Taiwan is now getting a quake...stay tuned... whole wave is not in yet, but initial S coming in at 1.5 mm/s.

Ok, this might be north of Taiwan slightly, like south Japan Islands... eeks, pulling 8 mm/sec on JOW.

I'm not liking this again. I've been nauseated for days again, and equilibrium off and ears ringing and headaches again. Feel on edge like something could happen at any minute. I think the OK quakes are related to them fracking on a stressed fault line. Fracking/Injecting on any fault line is absolutely insane.

Just FYI here in North County St Louis MO we have felt NONE of the Oklahoma quakes. I am one mile from the Missouri River due north of New Madrid.

I have felt many of the Arkansas swarm.

Very strange.
