There will not be a mega-quake in Rome or anywhere else tomorrow or the rest of this year.

By mega-quake I mean 9+

I think you answered your own question. Look at the date you listed. That's the March 10th/11th earthquake that hit Japan. Date depends on which side of the International Date Line you reside in.

WOW! That is a classical case of Delayed E-mail. I do often have a very slow ISP connection, sometimes a slow e-mail, but two months must be a record. Wonder if e-mail is becoming like snail mail - I read sometimes letters from WWII only reach destination decades later!

well i am stunned. just went back to my email just to make sure i havent made a mistake. im right, it arrived in my inbox this morning at 12.29am. herre is the original time stamp of my email. 12:29 AM i have retrieved the email out of the deleted bin so that tomorrow that time stamp will change to the date that it was received.

this is who it came from and there must be other on the quake watch that subscribe to the same emails. did anyone else receive the same thing?

I notice there's a wee uptick in quake activity around Etna... it's in an active phase at the moment so perhaps another eruption imminent?

Geonet gave that as
5.974ML, 3510720, -36.25098, -179.11465,2011/5/11 6:11: 20.8, 71.5km
magma.geonet.org.nz...

Geofon 5.8

This could be tricky, my NZ maps and graphs only go to 180E, not -179.11W

Will look at it again tommorrow.

Loyalty Islands:

Curious incidental observation:

Started yesterday with 6.8 at 19h55 Local Time (Evening)
Went on through night with 12 shakes then just after day break it stopped - 06h31.

Then it went 'to sleep' for nearly 13 hours. Off course I do not know about smaller quakes!

Started again tonight in evening 19h19 (Evening)
Until now (22h00) local time had 6 shakes.

Say nothing but curiousity. Will see what next few days bring. Loyalty Local time is UTC +11
