FLORES: Absolutely, that's one of the reasons I wanted to get on Natural Resources is it puts me in the position, not my full jurisdiction over the EPA but I do have some jurisdiction there. I can tell you the House as a whole, the Republicans in the House as a whole want to get rid of the EPA, shut down on these bunny trails that's going down that are throwing people out of work -- particularly the way it's abusing Texas. And I think that Texas can count on getting some relief from the EPA within the first few months of this Congress because they really have gone overboard.

Sure, let's get rid of unions, the freedom of speech, and the EPA. But we should pass tax cuts for the rich, and implement net neutraility so we can lock down the internet, GENIUS!

By the way, the EPA may waste resources, but doesn't EVERY gov agency? It's not that the EPA is a bad idea, it's just the implementation that needs work.

And we keep electing these dirt balls. Texas politicians are a good example of what happens when evolution skips a few generations.

They won't be happy until all regulation is removed and companies are allowed to dump toxic waste directly on to orphans who were just thrown out of a hospital after being denied medical treatment that they need because they're being injured in factories that have no safety standards because they were deregulated that they're forced to work in because they can't afford school since funding for public school was eliminated.

Talk is cheap! Ain't gonna happen because the republicans love regulation just as much as the dems. They use it to protect their politically connected cronies.. To those whining about how without it it would all be a toxic hell on earth I encourage you to deny ignorance and read the thread about "Two California's" See where all this wonderful regulation leads to.. Better yet just go straight to the article www.nationalreview.com...

Police do not make laws; firefighters do not make regulations... nor should they. No part of the executive branch should make laws or regulations either; that is Congress' responsibility, not some buy some influence cronies.
Congress should be construed of intelligent persons capable of informed decisions, or capable of learning about such, regarding such things. Not that I have anything against advisors but the process should be transparent and unbiased based upon demonstrable, repeatable scientific evidence not pseudo-science and socialist economics.

EPA should be stripped down, FCC and FDA as well as the FRB and IRS... and throw in some more of those mnemonics and acronyms if you like.

The system was not devised to work this way. The system needs dismantled, right down to its backbone, and corrected.

Well of course the GOP wants the EPA gone! They're Reptilians! We think they are cold blooded and only want the rich to get richer and the poor to get poorer, and resources to be overused simply because they want to get more wealthy, but really they're just trying to change the climate! I notice "V" will be back on TV this January. Hmmmmm.....

It's almost as if the GOP wants to lose the 2012 elections with the blatant pandering to the rich and big business.

There is a rapidly growing anger against big business with their corruption, obscene CEO salaries, stock options, bail outs, subsidies, out sourcing, cutting of benefits for the working man, trashing retirements etc.

Do you think the Libs won't use this? Keep this kind of **** up and kiss 2012 goodby.

Watch this.

Flores served as CFO for two publicly traded energy service firms from 1986 through 1998. In 1992, one of the two companies, Marine Rig 200, an oil and gas drilling contractor based in Sugar Land, declared bankruptcy. Because of the bankruptcy, the company repaid only $3 million of $10.5 million owed to the U.S. Maritime Administration, which held the mortgage on a drilling rig the company owned.[5] From 2002 to 2006, Flores was the Senior Vice President and CFO of Gryphon Exploration Company.[6]

In April 2006, the Carlyle Group and a group of five oil and gas industry executives, led by Flores as President and CEO, formed Phoenix Exploration Company with a $250 million capital commitment. The company is engaged in oil and gas exploration along the Gulf Coast and the Gulf of Mexico shelf utilizing regional 3-D seismic data.[7] Flores currently is a Director of that company.

Durrr... I wonder why Bill Flores and his energy company would want to get rid of the Enviormental Protection Agency?!?!?!

I have a question. Why is the title of this thread Lets get rid of the EPA and in the quoted post it says the Republicans in the House as a whole want to get rid of the EPA,.Clearly in the video he does not use the words get rid of. You added the words "Get Rid Of". That is misleading.

If you take those 3 words out, The meaning of his statement changes. He pauses right at the word EPA and then says what sounds like shutdown the money trails not bunny trails.

Either way we need to have regulations. The problem is when the regulators are in bed with the corporations, It is all smoke and mirrors. If a company is polluting and they are buddy buddy with the regulators, The only solution is to Just take that pollutant off the list and BAM! No more pollutant problem. The regulators then go after the ones that don't comply with them and put the focus of attention on them. The public is easy to distract. There is always a scary bad guy to throw at us.

A big huge vicious circle. I hope you all know we are all doomed. It is just a matter of time.I believe the world is past the point of no return. And it is quite sad.

Read this LINK

Like i said, Past the point of no return. people as a whole need to get our act's together. If something isn't done now, We are surly doomed.

Peace to all and Merry Christmas.

I don't believe the OP made the title up!

Apparently Huff Po made some "corrections" to their article, ...

GOP Rep.-Elect Bill Flores: House Republicans Want To Get EPA To 'Shut Down On These Bunny Trails'

UPDATE: An earlier version of this post misquoted Congressman Flores. The title and his comments have since been updated.

It's spelled secede, but instead of being helpful he's mocking your spelling like a child.
